The current Laws as linked from the NRL site suggest no change i.e. there's no mention of a continuance after a score

Nonsense. The LU community would reflect with quiet equanimity about the difficult nature of the task, how one's perception of events is coloured by team allegiances, and drawing on their own vast experience of officiating, be quite satisfied with the job being done.

I'm a Manly supporter, both tries had doubt (hardly "clear as day" as the cryfest in the other thread has it). But BOTD should go to the defending team, and had both disallowed.
I actually thought the first one was less convincing than the 2nd
They can do that without Government money, the NRL, AFL and Super Rugby are large scale commercial operations. It would be better spent lower down the sporting hierarchy, or even on other social programs.
They piss away money to the Raiders and Brumbies too, it's just what governments do. Presumably there's some rhetoric that goes with it.
