Buderus says British game more exciting

... which means they want to reduce the SL to 8 teams? They want to remove six teams from a 14-team competition? I don't know where you're getting your information from, but you seem bafflingly sure of yourself considering how at odds with reality that view is.

2011 Super League results & crowds

Something is off with those figures; Wigan's average should be much higher than that, and Salford/Crusaders' much lower. The Saints average is outright wrong, I think they've only had 2 crowds above 10k this year (playing in Widnes while the new ground is built). Edit - in fact, if the average...

    Crowd Watch 2011

Heh, yeah - the Emirates was what sprang to mind when I read the post! There are, however, some other pretty nice grounds around; off the top of my head: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_of_Manchester_Stadium (Man City) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cardiff_City_Stadium (Cardiff)...

    Crowd Watch 2011

The new Saints ground will be a tidy little place, that's for sure (and wow, how we needed it!) - but it's hardly comparable to the best in soccer. It's really not.

james foster's try against leeds 19/3/11

Foster's try was a slick little bit of skill, but let's not go overboard here - it was hardly OHMYGODFANTABULOUS.

    Rugby league simply too strong

Pretty much sums the media up - when they thought RL was in trouble, mainly via their own proclamations as such, they constantly stuck the boot in. Now they've realised RL is in fact growing in strength, they can't wait to suck up.

    Crusaders to Wrexham?

This is rugby league we're talking about! We're not exactly brilliant at PR, are we?

    Crusaders to Wrexham?

The crowd was nearly twice as big as that!

    Crusaders to Wrexham?

And both your home crowds have beaten your largest home crowd of last season!

NRL and AFL go head to head in Sydney's west on Saturday night

    Carston Shoddy knows the score.

Super League on TV in Oz?

Aye, it was a stormer. Myler and Tompkins both on fire, loads of savage tackles and just a very entertaining game.

    Crusaders vs Leeds

They got the full house, and apparently the fans gave them a standing ovation after the game.

Sheils Family Gets Surprise Membership Visit

This is a really nice initiative - do Souths staff visit all the people buying memberships to deliver them? Absolutely brilliant stuff - those kids must have been over the moon.

    Burgess Rusty's new house-sitter

We did? I didn't even know we'd signed him! Did we loan him to Bradford for a decade, or something? :)

Dear Mr English player...want to compete, come play in the best Comp.

NZ is a "rugby" nation, the likes of which we cannot compete with. I appreciate that it's dominated by RU, but the nation is saturated in "rugby" lore, and there's no shortage of raw materials and kids who grow up playing the game in one form or another. We don't have that at the moment, but...

4 Nations Final - Australia vs England

Trust me, I bloody well noticed!

Dear Mr English player...want to compete, come play in the best Comp.

Pretty much all the Kiwis play in the NRL, and we beat them. Our standout players (with the exception of Ellis) have never played in the NRL. Plenty of NRL players were no great shakes in the SL when they came over. It's certainly the best competition, but NRL experience is not as essential...

4 Nations Final - Australia vs England

Pretty much sums it up for me. Slater, Inglis and Lockyer are simply three of the finest players I have ever seen. We gave it a good shot for the first hour, but as soon as Shenton got injured it was game over - we saw what happens when you try to play a non-specialist centre against the...
