Not disputing that.

Joel Monoghan on stand by for Darius Boyd.
Agreed - a LOT of those players are really down on form at the moment.

I could ALMOST pick an Australia A side that, based on current form, would be competitive with the one named. Hell, on a good day it would beat it.

1. Hunt
2. Hayne
3. Lyon
4. Tonga/Cooper
5. Monaghan
6. Campese/Soward
7. Prince
8. Hannant
9. Farah
10. Weyman
11. Prior
12. Thaiday
13. O'Donnell

14. Lewis/ Preston Campbell
15. Poore/Waterhouse
16. Creagh
17. Carl Webb ( just to give NZ a chance)

Its a team that will never get picked, and I've probably left out a few good players - but based on current form, would still be capable of beating NZ, if not the named Australian side.

As usual, state-based selection loyalties have seen a pretty ordinary team picked. They should have gone:

1. Hunt
2. Folau
3. Hodges
4. Inglis
5. ? Boyd is not bad, but Kemp is going OK too, as is Chris Lawrence
6. Thurston
7. Prince
8. Civoniceva
9. Smith
10. Price
11. Laffranchi
12. Thaiday
13. Johnson

14. Hannant
16. Bailey
15. Minicello
16. Farah/Ennis/Stagg. The backline can cover any other position amongst their ranks they need to, with Inglis and, at a pinch, Hunt, capable of playing half. Utility value to relieve pressure on Smith may or may not be necessary, and if you went with Stagg you'd have a big bopper capable of joining in anywhere except at prop.
quite the opposite actually.
