Thought about Smith, just don't think Furner would do it. Don't know if the service from Buttriss was any better than Flanagan. Have we really seen enough of Flanagan to accurately judge him?? Vidot on the wing would also be a good option.

It has to be Furners game plans. he hates the offloads, we have virtually the same team as last year and after the first half against the tigers the offloads are no longer in the game plan.
its so frigin frustrating watching campese try and do everything where he hasnt even got players backing him up when running to the line
we need TLL and Thurling together with Harrison, get rid of Picker he doesnt do anything in attack out wide and why did they take out Croker.
Need to change tactics desperately cause the way things are going its not going to win the raiders any games at all

Prepared to give Graham another chance provided he plays on the left side of the field. The guy use to score a lot of tries using a kick ahead and being left footed would be more comfortable on the left wing or he could switch with Carney throughout the game.

Yea I can't see Furner doing it either but until we do I don't think our attack will click.
Flanagan passing game is pretty good his problem is the running from dummy half. Flanagan has a problem passing left to right iirc and a few of his passes were those wonky ones which allow the defence to get to the guy. But I'm willing to give him another go.

Agree since the 1st half against the Tigers we haven't looked like threatening. Furner must have told them at halftime to put the offloads away and now we are back to our old boring selves. We need to get back to what we did in that 1st half as our forwards were all over the Tigers, we were the ones with the first play the ball and we were scoring tries.

i went to raiders vs cowboys and seriously it was like watching the under 20's the intensity needed just isnt there and with players capable of rep footy you would expect more

Once they get back to tigers style footy and stay that way then thats when we will see trys coming for us.
The goal line defence is very ordinary as well, id like to know the stats on how many times a team scores when there in our 20.

Yep, we're done like ducks for 2009.

It's so frustrating when you compare us to 2008. The only attacking weapon we've lost is Best - by the way, management BRA...F*CKING...VO on the decision not to re-sign him - but Furner clearly has no idea how to coach a first grade side. Campese is trying his heart out every week but noone is with him.

The worst, absolute worst, part about this is that guys like Dugan, Carney, Croker...These are guys with buckets of talent but they've been brought into a club with a losing culture. That sort of thing sticks on young guys.

atleast the team has a few weeks to sort something out.

I'd really like to see fensom in the team and possibly joel thompson.
Since coming back Tilse has been pathetic. He only ran the ball about 5 times against penrith then dropped the ball at the most crucial time in the game. Turf him back to SL.

Milne must come in or furner is off his rocker. Why croker was dropped instead of carney or purtell I have no idea.
I'd dump picker to SL aswell. He does nothing with the ball and is average in defence.
Hell I'd drop the whole team except for campo, monas and logan.

I wouldn't be too concerned about this. Panthers blooded a lot of blokes during the tough times and all they have taken out of it is experience and being pumped to be in first grade.

We had a similar issue last season with Coote, Graham, Iosefa, Paulo etc. all coming from a winning Under 20's culture into a losing first grade culture. These blokes eventually rubbed off on their teammates and brought some much needed enthusiasm back into the side.

We're still far from having a winning culture in first grade. But it's great to see the blokes out there playing for each other and looking so excited after every good thing that we do.

You really are way too harsh on Carney. He finally got a game on the left and in the centres where he is more proficient and looked promising for the most part. You cannot judge him on the six weeks where he was tucked outside the absolute hog Monaghan who wouldn't pass a ball even if it was on fire.

As for another wing option, if there is a young bloke that could handle it, it would be Vidot. He has the size and speed.

Did anyone get to see the Canberra 20s? Did Vidot play?

ok....

Dugan should not be dropped, he is a better fullback than Milne.

Carney scored 2 tries but whatever....

Herbert is out injured isn't he?

Waddell is not ready to be starting hooker.

TLL is not a backrower anymore.

...good thing you are no coach

I want to know what Furner is telling our halfbacks. McCrone is doing exactly the same thing that Herbert was doing, they just run the ball and rarely ever pass it. We may aswell put another second rower in the no.7 if thats all they are going to do.
