Hi all, a Rhinos refugee here, looking for shelter...

Wondering if you guys could use another player in the Eels squad? It would be great to run around under the banner of the team I support. I've left a message for VG, and been chatting with EE who said I should pop into the thread and say hi. The more the merrier, right?

Would be happy to just be a part of the team, and not "high maintenance" about being in starting fives or playing in every match or anything like that. But should be available to write most of the time (except a bit in mid-June), and with the time differences in England I'm pretty reliable for putting something in late off the bench when needed.

Looking forward to playing alongside you all if you're happy to have me.

Sounds great to me, and while the decision is up to VG in the end I'd be pretty confident in repeating EE in saying welcome aboard the great ship Eels.

Glad to hear as well we've got our invitation for 2006, sure, there aren't many reasons to think we wouldn't be playing this year, but our PvP performance may have got some people worried. I've just got back from Orara Valley for the sevens, so no doubt expect an article or two about that time to start the year. I'm looking forward to it.

I'll be around this season - not sure if I'll be up for trials just at the moment but I should be good for a few articles.

I'd like to announce our second signing for this season. As you all expected Bartman is now officially an Eel. Our side this year is looking even stronger than last season so here's hoping it's a good one.

Sorry i couldn't organise a trial before the teams were selected to play but fortunately it wasn't needed. I have heard back from most of the team as to who would be available to write something for a trial. Quite a few of our players won't be available until the season starts but i think we could get a team together for a trial to give our two new players a run and to get everyone back into it. I'll look into it

I know that VG was looking for a trial. I expect that she's still interested. I'll say a tentative "yes" on her behalf at this stage. Do you want to check with antonius if there's a ref available?

VG is away for a couple of weeks I think so it might be down to us to organise this one EE. Do we even have numbers? We should get a quick head count for 2006, and try and give some of these new guys a run, if they're still interested. Personally I'd prefer to sit out, if we can't get the numbers together without having to put in EE, myself, Colonel, 1Eyed and Mits, we might need to do some quick fire recruiting for the season proper.

Also, cheers for the greetings LL, wish you were still lining up along side us, but knowing you're thinking of us while shootin squirrels out back is comforting.

i don't know the numbers. i know VG was doing a whip-around via PM to see who's available, but I don't know the results.

would be good if any squad members reading this put their hand up in this thread (whether available for a trial or not - just mention if you're not available)
