‘Don’t know how he does it’: Why Eels ‘needed to repay’ RCG as double family tragedy revealed

Deep down Reg wouldn't care but for me its truly a disgrace the way NSW have treated him over the years.

He has been the premier front-rower for this state in the past 4-5 years but the history books will show a fraud like Sharon Woods ended up with 14 caps for NSW and 17 caps for Australia.

Reg in comparison has just played 3 times for NSW and 9 times for Australia.

Even though there Origin careers didn't cross over as Woods hasnt played Origin since 2017 on what planet can you justify in the past 10 years that Woods has managed play 11 more games then Reg at Origin level.

It explains why NSW have NFI when it comes to picking to teams and we wonder why QLD continue to dominate us.

If Reg was a Queenslander how many Origins would he have played by now nearly 20 i reckon.

One of the biggest signings in our club's history. Really lifted the forward pack since coming here and he has been outstanding. There's been so many great highlights since he joined us. So happy he got his 200th game.

As for the NSW snubbing, it shows you how poor the coaching and selectors have been in the past few years, only 1 series win since 2020, and picking duds like Sims, Pangai Jr, Talakai, Saifiti. I'm sure Maguire will be different this year.

I know this is controversial, but whatever - he's our greatest forward since Ray Price, imo.
Don't think its a controversial at all.

He would definatley be our greatest front rower i have seen since once i was old enough to remember following the Eels from around 1999-2000.

I know Junior has played twice as many games for us but Reg has him covered.

Cayless was above average but when the big games came around he never stood up in GFs or Prelim finals.

2001 GF & 2005 prelim final leave a black mark against Caylo's name especially as captain.

Reg's 2022 prelim performance was outstanding. And was a crucial part of one our famous wins in my lifetime.

Tim Mannah no other club would have let him to get 230 odd games. Good person but seriously it showed how dire the club was during that period that he was still at the club a decade later.

I have no doubt part of our turnaround midway through 2019 was when he was tapped on the shoulder to rid of us losing mentality that seeped through the joint between 2010-2018 that Timmy was forefront of.

Having watched our Eels since 1964 there have been some gooduns. I reckon our best 2 have been The Bear and Fui but Reg is gaining ground on Fui. The Bear will always be our best in my mind.

I agree with you.

Although, I am an unabashed Tim Mannah fan - he always made 10m per run, and made his tackles.

I don't think he was a leader, and having leadership thrust upon him blunted his game.

Same for Hindy, imo
