This will get ugly for Newcastle I think. Melbourne haven't seemed to have given a sh*t about many of their games at the back end of the season, but they seem to really wanna make something of this one. The fact that they rested a heap of their players yesterday so they'd be fit for next Sunday proves that. We usually go really well against the storm, but I can't see Newcastle getting close in this one. Which is a shame. After the way they fought back forwards the end of the season, it'll be disappointing to see them get flogged in their last game against an illegal team that look like they're finally gonna have a go.

Sadly, Melbourne by as many as they want. Big farewell for several Storm players, final home game of the season, against a Knights team that look like they could be missing Kurt Gidley. It could get ugly, very ugly ...

Melbourne for me. They've cheated, cheated and cheated...but this is a game they should turn up for. They have had the wood on Newcastle for the past few years (albeit they cheated during this time), and with Tolman, Inglis, Hoffman, White etc. all playing their last games for Melbourne, they'll put in one last big effort for 2010.

Can't see Newcastle getting near them - missing McDonnell, Gidley and Simpson amongst others. Slater, Cronk, Smith etc will have a field day IMO and the farewell show for Inglis, Hoffman et al will be entertaining. Melbourne by 20-30.

Not recently. Pretty sure when we played down there last year they beat us like 18-14, and we were leading until the last minute of the game.

We'll get done on Sunday though. No question about it. I was expecting it before we were ravaged with injuries.

Unfortunately for Newcastle, this game has a cricket score written all over it. The Storm believe they have a point to prove in their last game and I can’t see the knights getting up after the big effort last week.

We have a rather good record against the Storm...

Earlier this year in Newcastle we should've won but threw the game away from memory (blew them off the park in the 1st half then switched off)

In 09 we dominated them in all departments throughout the game in Melb (just didn't get as many points as we should have), and they pulled the game out of the fire with a try in the last few mins. In the game in Newcastle, it was the first game under Stone, after being beaten by everyone in the past month (including the wooden spooners) we dominated this game as well, were up by 20-0 or something and let 3 tries in during the final 20 mins or so, still won though :)

In 2008, the game in Melbourne saw the Storm have all the ball and all the field position for the first 60 mins or so, and we played one of the most inspiring games I can remember in keeping them out for the entire time, but of course all that tackling was too much and the Storm ran in a number of tries in the last 20 mins. In Newcastle, one of the greatest wins in the club's history occured when we knocked off the Storm without Buderus, who had done his bicep the week before.

So yes, there are a number of losses in our recent record - but two of them we should've won, one of them we were always going to lose but almost felt like a win the way the boys played, and two fantastic victories as well.

Definate thrashing for the Knights to end the season. Storm to send their players off at home with a big win.

Sa'u out for the Knights, to be replaced by Kevin Naiqama, making his first grade debut with Vuna moving into the centres.
