Raiders scored more against us, with very little possession, and Campo out, than any other team so far. But we were never really threatened in the game, very controlled game from the Sharks. Best things for the Sharks are a good kicking game (we were so bad at that last few years) and 2 points on the ladder.

Congrats Sharkies. We were pathetic and you were clinical. Carneys kicking game was awesome. Ball on a string stuff.

Looks like a repeat of last year for us if thats how we play with Campo out. Pathetic and embarassing.

Sharks hardly had to make a tackle. Raiders did "well" given the possession, but they were never really in the match. Gallen made about 200m, again, and set up some tries. He is a freak. Carney and Robson give us better control than we've had for years. Our much maligned (usually fairly) centres were good, again. Sharks forwards dominated. Back three looked shaky on kick defence (though Raiders struggled with our kicks even more).

Dugan looked good- glad he is back and got through OK. Fergusson had more rocks than diamonds. Fensom also was a welcome return and defended well (as always). McCrone and Williams look like a reasonable combo, but they needed their pack to make more ground and their outside backs to catch and tackle better.

Sharks are the goods in attack. Last remaining question mark is consistent defense. Yes they've been good in that area till now but you can't let this Raiders team score 22 on you.

But less and less reasons to not put them in the very top category along with Melbourne and Brisbane.

Gallen is awesome  Funny when forwards can work out to get repeat sets but halves can't. Then his short-side play out of dummy half wtf

True. That was our worst defensive effort, though a lot of it was poor kick defense (not all of it) which has been our achilles heel for a long time. Wright has helped with that a bit, Mills and Williams are still a worry against kicks. To be fair, not many backs are ultra consistent at cleaning up kicks (except maybe Nightingale), and they really are a lottery.

If we can make the metres we made today it will be tough for any side to keep us out, and that territory and repeat sets (7 drop outs!) will help our defense. I am very happy so far, and we genuinely have looked like a top 4 side so far this year.

Our other question mark is to do it all year- it is still very early in the season. But we are reaching a point where we have to play very poorly from here to miss the 8- now we should set our sights on top 4, as the finals system is pretty even for all top 4, but harsh on 5-8.

Hang on, weren't the raiders forwards gunna smash and dominate all before them?

Oh that's right, they are the most over rated forward pack in the game. The only player who is under rated in the raiders pack is tilse.

Fensom and papalli are rated fairly, but pillow and tll.... Lol
