Slow old wicket coming up for the second test. Seeing as though Lyon was outbowled here, and how close they've ended up in this chase, SA will be confident you'd think. Add in the fact our #3 is a walking wicket as well

This is the kind of thing that gives the Aussies a bad name. They made no secret of their intention to give it to the Saffers verbally, even demanding that the stump mics be turned down to accomodate it.

Yet as soon as the saffers give some back Davey wants to take the moral high ground.

If your going to give it out you have to be able to take it.

Nathan Lyon will be sanctioned by the ICC for dropping the ball on AB de Villiers after the South Africa batsman was run out on day four of the Durban Test.

After the incident was reviewed by the match referee Jeff Crowe, Lyon was charged with conduct contrary to the spirit of cricket, a level one offence. He is expected to be fined a percentage of his match fee.

Lyon is believed to have contacted de Villiers overnight to apologise. He had also accepted the charge and no hearing was required. David Warner was not charged for his aggressive reaction to de Villiers' run out.

Markram would be my MOTM. In a game where the pitch was pretty tough to get in on, and theball dominated much of the play he was outstanding

But it'll be Starc for sure.

Yep, great win for Australia no mistake

But the boorish behaviour of Lyon and especially Warner detracts - clearly some won't like that, but it's a fact - unnecessary stupid behaviour

Lyon should have been fined more, that was beyond lame - and Warner should probably get a rest - his a serial dickhead and it just needs to stop

Again, great win for Australia - they played excellent cricket and don't need this clownish sideshow

Dizzying highs and heartbreaking lows

It wasn't supposed to be like this.

A famous test match win, deep in enemy territory, spearheaded by a maligned all-rounder come of age and a left-armed gunslinger at the peak of his powers.

The Australian dressing room should have been jubilant, with beers flowing and a stirring rendition of "Under the Southern Cross" being belted out.

Instead, the only thing louder than the silence was the sobbing of Steve Smith and the roaring of a furious coach.

"We won today boys, but at what cost?" he bellowed.

"JJ has made it clear we have nothing to celebrate."

"It's all tainted, and you should be ashamed of yourselves."

Bald, forthright and well-respected, Lehmann's words hit home hard.

"If you ever want to be good blokes, this is not the way to go about it."

Sure I agree with that

But in what context is the sledging? Is it game or player savy or OR personal

If DeKock said to Warner - hey merkin how many times does Smithy bend you over each night
then Warner has no right to go off the handle, he needs to harden up
but if it involved his wife/kids/family...then it crosses the line

What Lyon did was silly, a good fine and warning should surfice
