2 Clives for Billy Slater

And heaven forbid if a kiwi won it...
Well an Englishman won it....in a game where the best two players were English. So Aussie bias if it does exist isn’t impossible to overcome. I don’t think there are any obvious kiwis who missed out. Foran was probably better than DCE in ‘13 but Maloney probably should have won it.

Debatable, this greatest off all time thing is a pretty overrated statement. Unless you've watched every single fullback since 1908 how would you know who is officially the best. Slater is one of the all time greats but it would be interesting how he shapes up against Clive Churchill who changed the way fullbacks play and did some things Slater won't achieve.

Agreed. Even considering factors like the professionalism of the game and the effects it's had over the years. Would Slater still be as good as he is if he had to work for a living instead of train 5 times a week? Would Churchill be better as a professional? Or would opposition teams have been harder to play against with more training and structures?

"The greatest ever" is good far a debate and that is it.

Would Slater even kick 50 meter goals with a heavy leather ball also like Keith Barnes did?

It's always good for a debate

If Keith couldn't kick he'd never get a run in a first grade side, neither would've Jason Taylor come to think of it . . . didn't know Billy kicked field goals

Catch the ball without kicking people in the head.
Clive was also able to resist kicking prone players in the head.
Churchill was also able to do good deeds without telling the world how giving he was.
Unfortunately he was poor at lairing about and self promoting himself as a hero.
Clive was also not a merkin.

You know what. Your spot on , their shouldn't be a comparison because u can't compare different eras but the media try their best to do it which in turn sucks us fans into doing it too.
At the end of the day there's never a result on who's the best ever it's just a debate.

This is what clive thinks of you.
You seem to know a lot about Clive little man. Taumalolo will have scored more tries and anyone who tried would kick more goals in the same time span Clive played for Souths and he scored only 20 points in 37 outings for Australia

Then again he played in unlimited tackles when players were allowed to punch on and play dirty as much as they liked . . . you must've had a vision of Clive in a halo

You're not special AG, anyone can twist the past to suit themselves . . . did you know Achilles was a bigger grub than Smith

Kick a goal, from out near touch, after the full time bell to win a game for Souths against Manly to stay in the hunt for 1955 premiership with his broken arm held together by the cover of a school exercise book. He helped Souths who, at the halfway point of that same season, were equal dead last on the ladder, go on 9 game run, including the game against Manly (which was Souths 2nd last game of the regular season) to make the semis, qualifying 4th. Souths then went undefeated through the semis to win the comp without Churchill.

Additionally, Churchill coached Souths to four first grade grand final wins.

Terry Lamb never scored any points for Australia or NSW for that matter. Must've been a shit player as well.
