20,000 at the SCG tonight

The Swans had Sydney to themselves tonight. All they could draw was just over 20,000. Disappointing crowd.

Only 14k in Adelaide. Low crowds happen for various reasons. Senior footy would've had a direct result on the crowd in Adelaide.

Can understand the low turnout for the Swans game. It lived up to its preview.

Two things: One, almost all AFL in sydney is played on a saturday so a saturday afternoon loses a fair bit through teams playing and secondly a third of the stadium is being redeveloped. it's not just a matter of total capacity - lost capacity either. a very big chunk of the membership lost their usual seating and were relocated to GA areas, ergo GA tickets are reduced and if members don't show up that's empty seats and unavailable tickets.
