21-7 penalties
8-1 penalties in first 17 mins
How many try assists did the ref get?
Nice little set up and a hollow victory for mine.
And its Australian Schoolboys not chs.

When there is no neutral referees we have to expect dodgy calls, i can't remember Brendan Barlow or anyone else complaining about the disgraceful refereeing the last time the two sides met in 2008 at Kougari Park, Brisbane when Oz won 17-10.
Now that was a stitch up, i think the second half penalties were 12-1 to us and two poms sin binned.

Just as the England Academy coach would not be complaining now I suppose.

Barlow should have had them ready for what was coming. The easy lead up games may have worked against them and they thought all they had to do was just turn up and win.
By all accounts they didn't play for the full 80 minutes, too many players who want to score tries but don't understand that half the game is about Defence.Time to stop playing favorites It will be interesting to see what changes are made.

The Ausie discipline was atrocious and got worse the more they came to realise that they couldn't contain the England team.

Talk of a hollow victory is well wide of the mark as the England Academy blew at least five clear cut try scoring opportunities due to lack of timing etc.

George Burgess monstered the Ausie pack and was head & shoulders (literally) above anyone else on the field.

So 8-1 penalties in first 17mins (he gifted you the first try) 2 dodgy sin bins 21-7 penalties at the end make for a resounding victory (if you are English i suppose they do) I think not.

Yes our blokes did get the fumbles towards the end but you wont convince me that it was a victory made up of skill and talent most was luck and assistance on the night.

What changes do YOU think should be made?

1. David Nofoaluma - Was the NSW under 18's fullback - Why is he not the fullback ?

2. Jacob Gagan - Right side CHS winger
3. Trent Jennings - Right side CHS centre

4. Luke Pickerd - Left side CCC centre
5. James Tedesco - Left side CCC winger

6. Jack Wighton - Playing well
7. Harry Seijka - Playing well

8. Francis Veukiso - Deserves a chance
9. Chad Redman - Playing well
10. Chris Grevsmuhl - Playing well
11. Lachlan Burr - Playing well
12. Iain Riccardi - Deserves a chance
13. Paul Carter - Only stays because he is the captain

14. Sam Irwin - Good interchange with Redman
15. Matthew Groat - In the team on reputation.
16. Anthony Gadd - Playing well
17. Matthew Eisenhuth - Might as well give him a go as well

A good assesement there Id say.Well done.

Whoever takes the field will have to get used to dud calls by the refs.

I think if we stay somewhere near them in the penalty count we will end up ahead on the scoreboard.

I feel that they used tactics to frustrate and a lot of our blokes fell for it.

Ive heard in France the refs are much worse.

Interesting thoughts, i haven't seen the games but i would be surprised if they left out Tia Kilifi, Wells and MCCallum.
Have those three been below par ?

Tia Kilifi has been going well I can see him staying for Eisenhuth and McCallum really hasn't been given much of a go but he did come up with a couple of mistakes in the 1st Test but I can see him staying as well for Irwin.

But not Wells he was tested with kicks high balls, grubber kicks and failed.
Nofoaluma really has no idea about defending on the wing he should be given a chance at Fullback.

Really!
Don't get too caught on the ref, he called it as he saw it on the night and the Ausie lads were terribly indisciplined. The English Academy team hasn't played any wRm up games and as the halfs went on they began hitting their stride with timing and combinations beggining to click.

The EA also had a bigger pack which rolled over the Ausies more and more, as the game wore on the Ausies got caught out more and gave away a string of penalties due to the pressure.

As I said earlier tne England team will be better for the run out and the next game will be a tough one.

Dont try to make out the ref wasn't without faults,my bloke told me he let Academy advance of a penalty in their own time (before other team was set) and then when we went to do it he called it back and said "oh yeah sorry I got that wrong the first time.

Get a real ref.But that's not an excuse our blokes stuffed up but I don't think it will be happening again.

I doubt Barlow will make any changes particularly in the forwards, the starting 13 is his team and win lose or draw he will be sticking with it.
Maybe a couple of new faces on the bench to make it look good.
