The fact that the Premier League teams would entertain this just seems beyond belief. The Premier League is about to get into its gigantic tv deal, why would anyone want to mess with that.

Because the proposed league isn't meant to kick off until at least 2022. Besides, all of the big money would follow the breakaway league, not the premier league.

This is hated by 90% of fans. One of the basic foundations of football is meritocracy. To have an invitational that picks 7th place Chelsea over 1st place Leicester is madness.

UEFA is completely against this and their man just took over FIFA. FIFA can and will shut this down. There is no chance that this ever happens but the fact that the big clubs would even entertain the idea is depressing.

I'm not even sure most of the premier league would notice that the 4th spot was gone whilst they outspended all but about 10 big European Clubs buying donkeys at inflated prices. Except Arsenal of course, it'd be a tragedy for them not to get that 4th placed trophy.

The 4th spot was assured last round when Roma failed to make the quarters and City got through.

Barca gone. AMadrid convincingly beat them this morning. Atleti are a very good side but you'd have to consider Barca not making the semi's or final as a bit of a failure. With wage issues looming die to having MSN, it could be interesting going forward for them.
