Dogs might have a so called huge pack with a huge bench. But that amounts to bugger all when they face a side who have a complete side in Nth Qld.

Match Preview:
Cowboys v Bulldogs preview
Andrew Jackson | July 20 2016 6:43PM

Refreshed after the bye, the Cowboys and Bulldogs look to secure their Top 4 spot in Townsville.

In what shapes as the match of the round, the Cowboys are bolstered by the return of energetic five-eighth Michael Morgan. However, despite his absence the Cowboys have contributed largely what you would expect from Top 4 hopefuls in the past month, with a tough 26-12 loss to Canberra in Round 18 their only blight. Without their Origin contingent, the Cowboys certainly proved themselves a force, with the score line perhaps not reflective of the effort put in by the team as a whole. With a completion rate of 82% it was execution that proved the Cowboys' downfall and similarly a whopping 43 missed tackles did not benefit their chances. The return of Matt Scott and James Tamou up front should assist their task up front, which is made even more challenging this week against a rampaging Bulldogs' pack.

Cowboys vs Bulldogs – Key match stats
– Canterbury’s 21 wins from 33 matches against the Cowboys is their highest winning percentage against any team.

– The Bulldogs have won three of their past four in Townsville and 12 from 16 overall at the venue.

These stats are interesting. I knew we had the wood on the cows early, but this suggest we might be well matched against them and able to draw them into playing our game. Probably see Thurston making heaps of tackles with all the big guys running at him. Might change my tip to the Dogs.

Looking forward to this game. Two big tough packs ripping in. I will tip the Cows at home but not with any great confidence.

Dogs being 12/16 at 1300Teeth Stadium is a stat I wasn't aware of. Hope we can keep that good record up.

Dogs have been winning on Kasiano's back. He's by far the best off-the-bench impact player in the NRL. Basically, changes games when he comes on and does unorthodox things for a man his size. Cowboys contain him and they're well on their way to a win...

will have a few cracks at JT tonight, then some wanker like BM will pipe up labelling JT a hack and a speed bump when he bounces off one of them and is literally close to a 50kg difference between them

BM can instantly tell you how many finals games JT won between any given birthdays
