Knights v Bulldogs preview

Novacastrions aim for upset of the season against Top 4 Chasing Bulldogs.

We are getting down to the business end of the season in the NRL and we have two teams battling each other that couldn't have had more contrasting seasons.

The home side the Newcastle Knights will be hoping for another competitive performance this week against a Canterbury side that was extremely flat in the 2nd half against St George Illawarra last week. The Knights made the score look respectable last week against Manly but if truth is to be told, they were completely outclassed in the first 15 minutes by a Sea Eagles side that found many chinks in the armour of the Knights. That defense needs to step up ten fold to stick with the Bulldogs who have attacking weapons all over the field. The return of Jarrod Mullen is sure to bolster their chances of victory but will it be enough?

We'll look like a different team for the 40-50 minutes Mullen lasts on the field, and drop our shit once he goes off injured.

The only times we've looked like a real football team this year have involved Mullen running the show. It's a marvel of Rugby League that Trent Hodkinson has scored a series winning origin try, and Jarrod Mullen got 1 go as a teenager and was snubbed forever more. Having seen a bit of them together now - Mullen is 2 or 3 times the player Hodkinson is in any facet of the game you care to mention, totally dominates him on the field, and his teammates respond. Even Hodkinsons composure and cool head are vastly overstated. I think he mainly carries that perception because instead of putting his neck on the line when the going gets tough - the bloke disappears completely. Can't f**k up or lose your cool if no-one can find you.

Yeah, I have always been of the opinion that if mullen came through another system he would have played 25+ origins.

Harsh penalty considering the dogs were holding down just as bad in their first defensive set
