Cant wait for Rothfield's FANS LOCKED OUT article :D

If we play Parra expect tickets to be f**king pricey to make up for lack of capacity

Broncos pax - 30,112. Not including stadium memberships at this stage.

The Manly-Penrith game would have drawn a bigger crowd at Penrith, but of course it was Manly's home final. The Sharks match likewise, and it was their home final. The NRL should consider using Penrith, Cronulla and maybe Wollongong/Kogarah in week 1 where it is considered these grounds would draw a better crowd than the bigger joints. Not Brookvale though, it is just a shithole.

You don't set your marketing for the die hards who are already going. You do it for the casuals who have a fringe interest.

Which of the four matches last week was boring. I'd say none.

Sorry to disappoint you Sydney is NOT the largest city in the southern hemisphere its actually #8 behind places like Rio, San Paulo and even Jakarta! Melbourne is #9

Sorry. I meant largest in Australasia. Should have thought that out better. However its a big city and rugby league is not so big worldwide. So its vitally important to maintain and not dilute rugby league in such a city. The tyrrany of distance isnt factored into the glossy view of people wishing to rid Sydney of its established and well known rugby league clubs. If a club like the cowboys , canberra or Melbourne fair poorly then the game in that area will decline. End result disastrous. If Sydney reduces its rugby league footprint and the clubs dont fair well then disaster also. However if the Sydney area has 9 or ten clubs with a promotion and relegation set up for other aspiring Metropolitan clubs then the game will capture the imagination and support along with relevance in most of Sydney. You take away Sydney clubs and a negative message is assumed by the casual and longtime fan. Other codes will reep the rewards of rugby league abandoning its footprint throughout Sydney. Simple as that.

    hmmm
    ok
maybe we shouldn't assume people can read either then
, or understand what the word elimination means as it appeared in nearly every piece of advertising associated with the game lol

Did you reply to the wrong person? I was addressing:

"if people are true supporters then they don't need to be told whats on or be encouraged to attend."

As someone who goes to games I agree but that's not what the marketing should be going for anyways.

    I agree.
Even if it was a Dogs home final against a smaller Sydney side say a Sharks/Sea Eagles/Panthers it would be better off at Parra and avoid the bad look that was finals week one last year for Dogs v Penrith

we're being told fans didn't know it was an elimination final
the information was sufficient for any fan , rusted on or casual , that howler was just another attempt at excusing the abject laziness of sydneys NRL fans
