2017 NFL Draft

Florida CB Jalen Tabor is bombing in offseason testing prior to the draft, he ran 4.62 in the 40 at the combine & then followed it up with 4.77 at his pro day

That combined with all his off field issues he could be in for a big fall at the draft.

Primed for Pat's to pick him tbh. lol

I was put on to a small school kid outta Youngstown State called Derek Rivers.

A really nice edge rusher who looks like he could do some things in the NFL.

Only issue to me is the level of competition.... you kinda have to judge him on a curve...

Having said that I remember Khalil Mack has some of those same questions before we took him.

Not long to go.

Steelers prediction: first two picks will be CB/OLB, WR/TE and QB with their 2 3rd rounders.

I'm a chargers fan if adams or hooker are unavailable at 7 then I would trade down and get a couple of extra picks this year and next year and draft a better qb next year.

Any chance they surprise everyone and draft a QB in the first??

Big Ben seems like he's pondering the finish of his career at the moment so if a QB like Mahomes or maybe Watson falls to them... would they be tempted??

Anything's possible, depends on what the read on Ben is, I think he just loves the circus around him but if he's genuine, then maybe. Tomlin has also said the QB scouting they're doing is a dry run as they haven't had to really dig in and evaluate the top of the QB class for a decade and want to see how they do, could be a red herring too.

I hope they don't and Ben sees out his contract to the end of 2019, if he's at least committed to that, it's too early to draft his successor I think.

Did a mock draft today and this is how i think this is how it will all shake out... and by that i mean there will be a trade in the top 10 and the entire mock will be broken an hour into coverage, or SF will just take Allen/Thomas and break it at pick two! But this is what i came up with

1 Cleveland - Myles Garrett, DE, Texas A&M

Clearly the best player in the draft. He tested off the charts, his physical traits suggest he's a cant miss 13+ sack a year player

2 San Francisco - Marshon Lattimore, CB, Ohio State
They've taken a lot of defensive line talent early in recent years and I don’t think they'll invest another there right now, they'll take the best cover corner in the draft. Concerns about his injuries are real though

3 Chicago - Malik Hooker, S, Ohio State

The Bears biggest issue is defence in the back end. They can can get a great player, that fills a need and matches value here with Hooker. One of the safer players in this draft in my opinion

4 Jacksonville - Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU
A violent runner who is NFL ready to run between the tackles. Chris Ivory didn’t pan out for them, and TY Yeldon is a bust. With issues with Bortles, they'll eye the Elliott-Cowboys model of play this year and ride Fournette

5 Tennessee - Jamal Adams, S, LSU
They need back end play makers and that's exactly what Adams is. They also need a couple of CBS and a pass catcher but they'll address those later

6 New York Jets - O.J. Howard, TE, Alabama
With the best corner gone and the two safeties out, the Jets take OJ Howard who is the best TE to come out in years. TE's usually take a year to make an impact and that'll suit the Jets fine as they still search for their franchise QB

7 Los Angeles Chargers - Solomon Thomas, DE, Stanford
The Chargers are over the moon to find Thomas fall to them and now they can continue to build a defensive bully and pair Bosa with Thomas on the other side

8 Carolina - Jonathan Allen, DE/DT, Alabama
Another team who can't believe their luck, Carolina want to get back to being a dominant defensive team, and tough in the trenches, Lotulelei is off contract at the end of the year and they have a 37! Year old Julius Peppers penciled in the start at DE. Allen help in both spots short and long term

9 Cincinnati - Reuben Foster, LB, Alabama
The Bengals have to find a upgrade on Burfict who has produced at times but has absolutely cost them big games as a WLB. Kevin Minter is currently their MLB, and Flowers as SLB. Foster could play any of those 3 spots and upgrade it significantly

10 Buffalo - Mike Williams, WR, Clemson
Watkins cant stay healthy and even if he could, they still need to give this team a physical red zone reciever. Mike Williams is a great fit for Tyrod's style

11 New Orleans - Taco Charlton, DE, Michigan
The Saints need to address their defence and that starts with pass rushers. They can pair up Charlton with Jordan and start getting after it on D

12 Cleveland - Mitchell Trubisky, QB, North Carolina
Unless they can swing a trade for Jimmy G, I think they have no other option but to keep swinging away at QB. They like Trubisky and reports are they are considering him with #1 over all, so getting him here at #12 is a no brainer

13 Arizona - John Ross, WR, Washington
I really thought hard about Mahomes here given Palmer's age, but they've lost Floyd and Fitz is going to retire at the end of 2017. They need a replacement for him and someone who can help them make one last SB run

14 Philadelphia - Gareon Conley, CB, Ohio State
To say the Eagles have problems at CB would be an understatement. If Conley is available, they should SPRINT to the podium to get him. And then probably double down and take another CB in round 2

15 Indianapolis - Derek Barnett, DE, Tennessee
The man broke Reggie White's sack record in college, he's a technician as an end and would give the Colts a much needed defensive boost

16 Baltimore - Takkarist McKinley, OLB, UCLA
Impossible to pick the Ravens most years as they are truly a BPA team, they'd take QB if that was the top player on their board. In this case I think it's McKinley, who they'll have high grades on based on how well he'd fit their scheme

17 Washington - Dalvin Cook, RB, Florida State
Large Rob ain't getting it done for a team like this. They need to be able to run the ball and they need their RB to be a good pass catcher, Cook fits the value and need for this skins team, and gives Cousins a much needed weapon to check down too

18 Tennessee - Corey Davis, WR, Western Michigan
They need to give Mariota a pass catcher. Considered Njoku here but I think Corey Davis has tremendous upside. They might consider corner here but it's so deep they can come back early in Round 2 and get a starter

19 Tampa Bay - Christian McCaffery, RB, Stanford
No idea what's happening with Doug Martin but I think they'd like to move on from him, with that in mind they get McCaffery who can help out in spot duty as a between the tackles runner, exceptional 3rd down back, and a return specialist

20 Denver - Ryan Ramczyk, OT, Wisconsin
Very tough Offensive Tackle and the best in a bad draft. The Broncos need to get better on the line and start running the football with more conistency. Ramczyk will help that as he's mauler as a run blocker.

21 Detroit - David Njoku, TE, Miami
The guy running the Lions now comes from the Patriots tree, and I think the idea of pairing a two very athletic pass catchers in this Jim Bob Cotter offence and give Stafford match up nightmares all over the field. He's a Jimmy Graham type

22 Miami - Forrest Lamp, OG, Western Kentucky
An excellent Guard prospect who is a day 1 starter and potential All Pro. I think the Dolphins they'd love to pair him with Tunsil and Pouncey and really lock down the OL

23 New York Giants - Cam Robinson, OT, Alabama
The Giants OL is holding them back badly. I don’t think this really addresses their issues because Robinson has huge bust potential, but athletically there aren't many who can move like him. They take a flier on him and hope it works

24 Oakland - Haason Reddick, LB, Temple
High motor, fast LB who can make plays in space and in the back field. Think he probably plays WLB but if he adds a bit of size, could easily play MLB. Both positions of need for the Raiders

25 Houston - DeShaun Watson, QB, Clemson
They somehow got out from under that Osweiler boondoggle and now need a QB, Romo didn’t pan out so this is down to Watson or Mahomes. I think the Texans feel they are in a SB windwo so take the more pro ready QB.

26 Seattle - Kevin King, CB, Washington
He's a long, rangey corner who can play in zone schemes. Perfect Seattle CB. They had issues at Corner opposite Sherman last year and there is even talk they'll trade Sherman before the start of the year. This is a perfect fit

27 Kansas City - Patrick Mahomes, QB, Texas Tech
Alex Smith can't seem to get over the hump and the Chiefs will want to groom his replacment. Mahomes is often compared to Brett Farve and Andy Reid rose to fame as a QB guru working with the HOF gunslinger. Reid will LOVE Mahomes.

28 Dallas - Tre'Davious White, CB, LSU
They have lost virtually everyone out of their secondary this off season and need to devote a lot of resources to it. They take the top corner available, and for me that's White.

29 Green Bay - Jabrill Peppers, SS, Michigan
I don't know where they'd play him, maybe at OLB, maybe at Safetey, but he just makes plays and this packers teams needs someone who just finds his way to be around the ball.

30 Pittsburgh - DeShone Kizer, QB, Notre Dame
Big Ben spent the off season doing a Farvian fake retirement that no one was buying, however it does bring into focus that Big Ben is 35 years old and unlikely to be a Tom Brady type playing well nearing 40. His time is coming in the next 2 years. Kizer needs about 2 years to be ready. This could be a seamless transition

31 Atlanta - Charles Harris, OLB, Missouri
The Falcons lost the SB in dramatic fashion in large part because their D stopped getting to Brady. They need pass rush help, it's their biggest flaw in a young athletic D. Harris will give them someone to help Vic Beasley out and give Dan Quinn another rusher

32 New Orleans - Marlon Humprey, CB, Alabama
The Saints got a pass rusher earlier in round 1 and now come back at the top of the round to get themselves a corner who can cover. They'll hope Humprey's physical style will help them set the tone. He's not a refined player but he's got all the tools and has shut down corner upside

Reddick would be a great pick.... certainly an area of need.

The names I'm hearing strong for the Raiders are Kevin King and Joe Mixon.

Mixon is interesting because we supposedly have a zero tolerance policy for domestic violence.

The other name I've seen is Sidney Jones in the 2nd. We take both the Washington corners of Jones is still on the board in the 2nd.

Just watched this simulation for the Browns at #1....

Quite frankly I think they are nuts for not taking the titans offer of 5, 18 & there 3rd rounder.

Sure they give up Garrett... but 5, 12 & 18 as well as 33, 52, 65 & 83.

That would fill a shit load of holes in one draft...

How about this by Mike Lombardi...

I'd be pretty shocked if Foster makes it to us at 24... and be even more stunned if we pass on him..:

He wouldn't make it past the browns or the 9ers in the second, and thats at the absolute worst, he will slide out of the 10, but doubt he makes it past the Eagles.

I would be shocked if the eagles take him
Conley, Barrnett, McCaffrey or Cook seem like the odds here

i think there is a good chance they trade back tbh

Hard to tell who is going to trade back because it's hard to see many teams trading up.

9ers have been throwing up smokescreens everywhere trying to get a trade moving IMO but not sure there's much to be had.
