People can bang on about "plodder" Glasby all they like but come Wednesday week he'll prove to be one of QLDs better performers.
Wil certainly outdo Thaidays efforts

So whats "better performer"? Top 5 in the Qld team or what?

Just interested to know the benchmark.

The Great Glasby to do well at the start before it all goes tragically wrong at the end and he is exposed as a pretender.

Queensland have a few things going for them here. For a start, a better team. Secondly, you've got Tedesco and Fifita who turned in career best performances in game 1. Like Napa against the Rabbitohs last year, when you have a career best performance, it means you haven't played that good ever before and probably won't ever again, at least for a good while anyway and definitely not in the next game.

So NSW will need someone else to stand up this time. Who will it be? Pearce, the bloke who owns the team? Well he's in career best form and his kicking game was fantastic in Game 1 according to the bozos on Fox (that was a coffee sprayed in the keyboard moment for me). If Pearce has to play a good Origin game or NSW lose I'm afraid we could be in little a bit of trouble.

NSW have the forwards but Queensland have the halves, well the spine really. Interesting game ahead.

big hit!

The NSW team could be improved. BMoz is one who shouldn't be there. Ridiculous that a win means they don't look at improving the side. Things will not pan out same way as game 1. QLD will look at killing play early this time if sets are completed.

QLD crossed the line 3 times in Game 1. Last ditch defence held them out.

QLD will look at solidifying the middle of the ground. The turning the ball inside card has been played.

They've punted turnstile O'Neil. They won't be moving Gagai there. NSW still need to be able to find more points on the edge. Does that backline have it? I don't think so.

Pearce's kicks appeared pointless, but after another one went down Oates' throat for the 3rd time, any person with half a knowledge of rugby league would've realised at that stage that it was tactical. It achieved it's purpose as the game progressed. Everyone is saying that Oates was good and unlucky to get dropped - well he didn't make any mistakes but he didn't offer anything either because NSW nullified him completely. He doesn't break the line on returns, doesn't stand up the defence the same way Holmes can. Oates couldn't help out the forwards later in the game because he was buggered from bringing the ball out 30-40m 7 times and copping contact. Boyd does most of that for him at the Broncos and NSW took him out of it completely.

Pearce's short kicking was garbage, but it was also clear QLD tactics were to rush him and rough him up in those situations.

All QLD need is a bit of space out on the edge. Bringing in Thurston and having Slater lurking now puts the NSW defence in several minds as to what may actually happen.

The Queensland backline has improved immensely however the pack is still way below nsw. Honestly if the QLD pack was a week to week NRL pack it would be considered an average one whereas the NSW would be the best in the comp by a mile.

That's why I'm still confident NSW can get over the line. We have it all over the Maroon pack and that's been an advantage we've had over the years, that's why we won those games in 2011, 2012 and 2013. The loss of Scott and Parker has really hit the Maroons.
