Hartley was a Dogs fan, even when refereeing. Dead set cheat when you played the Dogs. Skeepe would have attempted an assassination back then if he saw him ref lol.

But Manly were definitely his second team though. I didn't mind them as commentators together though, they were genuinely funny in a brutal sort of way compared to Hadley's Continuous Abomination team.

This is not the end of the world for the Sharkies. With Melbourne finishing first 5th could be better than 4th. Each team will have to play the Storm eventually to win the big one but it would be better to play them later in the finals than first week. 5th would mean you'd get to play the likes of Manly or Saints.

Called the final try by Greg Alexander in the '90 GF, whereas on the ABC Arthur Beetson was deliberating whether the Panthers would go for goal when 8 behind and a minute or so left. The ABC completely missed the try. Still have it on VHS.

If we finished 2nd or 3rd we'd get a second chance if we lost but that puts you on course to eventually play Melbourne in Melbourne to get into the GF.
