How can Mounties do that under the points system? Seems unfair on the other sides.

Each club is subject to the same restrictions:

Tere Glassie has not played 1st grade for 20 years and has played for Mounties for 8 years so he is probably only 3 points.
Yileen Gordon has not played 1st grade since 2011 so he is classified as an ISP player so probably 9 points.
Willie Mataka has not played 1st grade since 2011 so he is classified as an ISP player with 3 years at Mounties, so probably 7 points
Tony Satini has only played 1 game in 1st grade so probably 10 points
Omar Slaimankhel played only 5 games so probably 15 points.

So if all 5 play that is 44 leaving 56 for the other 12 with 10 having played multiple seasons with Mounties earning points discounts.

When you can receive a 5 points discount for player loyalty, a bit of stability in the player roster would give all clubs the option of including 4 or 5 players with 1st grade experience but some clubs don't want it.

Some team lists still not up. With several clubs posting their own team lists on social media you'd think it's just the NSWRL dropping the ball again. How hard is it to put the team lists in?

Western Suburbs Magpies team to play Asquith, Waminda Oval, Saturday 2.30pm
1. Kelsey Coakes
2. Elijah Sautu
3. Junior Mapesone
4. Josh Davis
5. Peter Pakoti
6. Keiran Wyld
7. Brendan Waters
8. Bayley Faull
9. Luke Williams
10. Tamata Rangi
11. Inno Innosesio
12. David Minute
13. James Mirceski
14. Eddie Vatuvei
15. Avia Minute
16. Kilifi Tia Kilifi
17. Alatanu Wright

It looks like at least one of the 4 RMC clubs that qualified for the next stage of the Challenge Cup has dropped out as the Illawarra site is showing that Dapto (as substitute for Illawarra Wests) are playing Guildford on Saturday. If reports are correct, Guildford lost all 3 qualifying games.

I'd say it's more to do with Statedge than anything else.

All bar Asquith and Cabra RMC sides are up on our website http://bit.ly/LUteamlists

About half the Shield teams are up too.

This rubbish about teams "not being named" is just that. In all likelihood it's to do with Statedge

Brothers have a very weak team but there is some good news. They inserted 18 players in the NSWRL Live system yesterday but today they added a 19th player, Lakehm Aiono, so maybe they have just signed him. Aiono was a permanent fixture in the St Marys team in 2016. They need to keep looking for more guys like him if they are to avoid a horror season.

Hmm you might be right about brothers. They have named some blokes in their massey team that struggled to make shield last year

Going off the team lists for round one, there’s seems to be a bit of a decline in player quality to be quite honest.
In the RMC - Mounties,St Mary’s and Wentys look to be the strong squads with Asquith and Burwood also looking good on paper.
Brothers in both squads look weak..West Magpies don’t look any better and will struggle in the RMC.

Interested to see the Cabramatta squads.

In Shield - St Mary’s,Wentys and Campbelltown will be the front runners I think.
Belrose look to have lost a lot of their veteran experience in Mortimer,Marando and co.
Moorebank could be the surprise packet I think.

Just my opinion off the trial form and team lists named.

2 big signings I’m hearing from a source at saints, Andy Saunders and Jacob Kelly. Saunders recently released from Wenty and Kelly a young kid who has spent the preseason up north with Q CUP side Norths devils..Both promising front rowers who will add some size to their already strong squad...

Saunders is in the team vs Mounties.
