Does today win cleanse the soul a touch after what happened the 2019 WC final from a kiwi cricket fan perspective.

Different format obviously but still you probably got one back on England after the Tied final.

No, but thanks for asking...

that was terrible, middle of the night, all looking positive after being towelled in the previous final, and then a 'unique' series of events... unforgettable... greatest odi match ever, but being on the wrong side of it (when I genuinely think we should have won all things being equal) will linger forever - but that's sport, and especially cricket (and why to me ODI are so much better than T20)

This was epic too, and while we're not as good as we were, reassuring that actually we remain a decent test side, and if the selectors pull their heads from their arses we'd remain one of the best ones atm Test cricket can be the most brilliant thing in sport though, and thanks to this team we've had some great moments - and some huge letdowns - notably in Aust, but until day 3 this series, the loss to Bangers last year etc)

And we're rolling with the same 13 for Sri Lanka. NZ staff have learnt nothing and are happy to use a once in a century outcome to bury their heads in the sand.
