Totally agree with your comment about SJ. I hold my breath now when he has the ball in his hands on the last play!

3. Mann - sounded simply massive.

2. Gavet - one of the most intimidating things in rugby league is a big forearm guard, on the right bloke (George Mann, Big Mal, et al). Scary stuff. He got the better of Klemer last night, but of course the latter came off Origin two nights prior. It's still good by Gavet though.

1. Ken - coming of age? As mentioned, a Ken malaise set in early on this forum (and others apparently) but he seems to be a young player just needing time to find his feet. My main man Manu is only injury-cover now.

3. Mannering - Was just out of this world even by his standards
2. Gavet - Our only true monster.
1. Maumalo - Yeah yeah...

HM to RTS who did a lot of important work defusing bombs. He was really good.
Roache impressive, SJ solid.

Couldn't complain about anyone really.

3 Gavet
2 Roach
1 Maumalo

Despite a couple of patches of good stuff, I thought SJ was pretty average last night and Fus below average by his standards.

I thought SJs game control and last tackle options were good, he leg himself down with a couple of shocking passes though

3 Gavet - reasons already above. ( Halligan now interchanges between Gav-ett and Gav-ay during the game, sometimes in the same sentence!)
2 Mannering - mr reliable
1 Maumalo - hes improved out of sight from what he was delivering earlier.

Ratings out of 10.

RTS 7/10 stop letting the ball bounce dude. communicate better. lost a point because of that
Maumalo 8/10
CNK 6/10 starting to lose metres on tough carries but took all the bombs bulldogs sent him
Fusitua 5/10 cost us a try in second half, coughed up ball and looked out of sorts apart from the slick try assist to Ken
Blake 7/10
Hingano 5/10 not gelling with outside backs yet but D was good
SJ 5/10 apart from drop goal and backing up roach, this game was not his best work. His passing was indifferent and at times shocking. Did well to handle Klemmer traffic and some well directed high kicks. expect better from someone on his salary.
Mannering 9/10
Brodene 7/10 nothing to complain about for a change
Hoff 7/10
Matulino 7/10 working into form but nothing like Gavet
Luke 6/10 shame about the shoulder
Lilyman 7/10 put the shoulder to the wheel
Gavet 9/10
Lisone 7/10 brain explosions happening less and less. Crucial tackle in front of post to force error from Klemmer
Vete 5/10 only got 11 minutes...
Roach 8/10 provided zip from dummy half. absolute bonus after Luke going off.

Meanwhile in the changing rooms after the game, Luke and Roach sit side by side with Luke clutching at his shoulder telling Roach what he did well. Coach Kearney walks in...

Kearney: "Are you ok bro?"

Luke gets up to speak but Kearney walks past the injured Luke and talks to Roach instead lol.

disagree about maumalo being a liability at the start of the season. never was one. no one liked him and that just spread throught several forums

Come on mate... here's what he was doing wrong;

1) Stopped even trying to catch a lot of contested high balls (let it bounce or do ridiculous tap/smack backs)
2) Dropped uncontested kicks
3) Dropped off tackles
4) Was out of position on defence (this is only half his fault, and half Kata)
5) Didn't read any kicks in behind as was sloooooow to get back
6) Kept trying to interfere with opposition players running to those kicks illegally
7) Out of position pretty much always in attacking zones
8) Bombed try scoring opportunities with a fair degree of regularity (4 tries from 28 games, it's not like he didn't have chances)

Ken of the last month and Ken prior to that are two wildly different things. I'll give the man kudos for being good now, but that doesn't make his performances previous to that retroactively good. It's a joke (and typical of the Warriors) that he had to learn the fundamentals of his position while in first grade. And if Kata has taught us anything, it's to enjoy what he's doing now... because unfortunately there is always the possibility he might regress again - player progression isn't necessarily linear.

Yeah, Hoffman was good.

Mannering did a job on Graham and Klemmer. His defense was rock solid and key to the win.

3- Mannering,
2- Roache
1- Maumalo

Not all that excited about a 7 point win over a very, VERY average Dogs side at home. There were good points but still really disjointed stuff about it. The 70 mins we played with 13 v 13, we lost 14-13.

Nah...we played well against a Dog's pack who make you play their style of football and in conditions that suited them perfectly.

Although we definitely did some frustrating things last night, as per usual. I expect nothing less (or more)

Nailed it.

He's better, earned his spot for sure, but there's no way it was a bandwagon hate.
Maumalo was a genuinely terrible winger now ramping up.

3 Mannering. Greatest Warrior of all time.
2. Gavet. Just even for the shot on Bungeyes. Great effort.
1. Roache. Had an important role and took it with both hands.

I think most on here had blinkers on and didn't see Ken's improvements to his game until suddenly he is awesome. So it is kind of bandwagoning.

As for SJ his field kicking game was excellent and the reason we won imo.

Better still was that shot brought out the niggle in bungeye and he was getting pinged for it.
