Id say Haurie will be in the 11, being in Sydney.

Who do they drop?

Does Bracken need the rest? But certainly wouldn't mind the spinner just don't know how to get him in. Would be tough to drop Hilf as he was good before the death overs.

Hopeless and White are mongoloids. Both should be removed and isolated from the rest of the squad.

Yeah good point, Id say Johnson will be there, Improve our late order hitting, gee we need it

Roy is back in training after his knee athroscopy, Hopefully he will be right for some One dayers vs kiwis later on

Hopefully Warner gets a few more games, BUT if he doesnt perform in that time, Katich wouldnt be a bad option, I reckon he would be be a totally diffferent player from the last time he played ODI's. Age may be a factor for selectors though

If SA can actually hold their chances when the Aussie top order is batting they could make some serious inroads as guys like White and Hopes are big hitters but vulnerable when put under pressure.

I hope they do something about the powerplays after this series. The point of powerplays, especially in regards to the batting teams choice, was to eliminate the dull period between overs 15-35 and yet we're not seeing powerplays get taken in that period. Powerplays should have to start no later than the 35th over so they're all done by over 40, either that or get rid of the damn things and let the players skill decide it.

Katich and Marsh isn't the best opening combo, both have patches where they don't get many runs. If Katich was coming back it would be over Marsh but that ain't going to happen. For mind we need a Gilly like player at the top. Whether that is Warner, Michael Dighton or Jaques when he comes back but those explosive starts is the difference between us being 50/50 at the inns break and 70/30.

Agree from our 13 I would go

Warner
Marsh
Ponting
Haddin
D Hussey
M Hussey
Hopes
Johnson
Hauritz
Bracken
Tait

Unlucky for Hilfy but I feel we need a specialist spinner at the SCG.

White plays as a batsman where as Hauri is a bowler and bats with the tail

I think White's all rounder days are over

that doesn't change the fact white has to be dropped

he does nothing but waste space

now i'm off to the tab to put him down as the leading run scorer on friday

whats the go with the huge gap between ODIs??

not sure, but given it exists, I'm surprised tomorrow night's T20 prelim isn't available to Aust players... :?

Squad for Friday:
Australia Shaun Marsh, David Warner, Ricky Ponting (capt), Michael Hussey, David Hussey, Cameron White, Brad Haddin (wk), James Hopes, Mitchell Johnson, Nathan Hauritz, Nathan Bracken, Ben Hilfenhaus, Shaun Tait.

Well they do need a rest of some sort mate :p Fast bowlers won't want to back up and play 5 games in 5 days. The first one had a game of 2 days- they always got a certain day break in the tri series but there was always the nuffy game played inbetween.

deadset Cameron White must have some pretty bad dirt on the selectors. How do you select such an average batsman who can't bowl?
