Sure a batsman then, I didn't realise Bavuma was hurt but I'm well aware of when Kalisz retired

Bit over so many teams playing very mediocre all rounders as a bat, Santner (or I guess like RSA a couple plus a keeper bat) Marsh etc

Yeah, again Safrica's slightly different with the quotas. If Bavuma's the next best quota batsman after Amla in Safrica - its slim pickings after him. Mediocre all rounders start looking more viable as against an awful specialist bat. Changes the context a bit. Especially with Maharaj often fulfilling one quota type requirement.

With the series wln already, a replacement quota player, was almost a sure bet imo. By playing and filling 3 Black Africans quota spots, they lessen the requirements for matches later in the year.

For those interested - its 6 black, incl 2 Black African, averaged out over the year. Vern is not Black African, just deemed as black as is Amla, Maharaj, Berhadien as was Duminy. Phehlukwayo, Rabada and Bavuma are deemed Black African. I assume Lungi is as well.

Also not sure SA often play a couple of ar's in their important or more challenging test matches. It seems typically to be 1 or none to me.

I'v got to say, SA actually didn't bowl that well in the first session. There were far too many balls that pujara and kohli could just leave outside offstump, with the way the ball was hooping and seaming India could have been 8/12.

Yup I noticed that to, Pujara was just happy to let them go all day long

They have a brutal pace attack, but if tests against India are being contests rather than them easily winning, then all's well for when we tour.

I'm not a fan of the way India acts at times but I wouldn't be fazed if they rolled SA here.

Just like pitches that offer nothing for pacemen pitches that offer nothing for spinners are no good for the game.

I tell you what are South Africa on the slide or are India that good now??

I’m confident we will do well over there, I mean both sides are batting like we do at times lol. Be good to see Cummins come back to his favourite deck

would be good to see him keep the ball up on their pitches and stop with this short shit barrage

so what does everyone think about pitches dished out for this series.

tbh, I am not fussed about them but the lack of outrage (not here) compared to pitches produced by India is quite noticeable.

in this test match its not an even contest, too much favouring the bowler, scores of under 200 by both teams indicate that

ideally a sore of 250-300 is ideal imo, there is a bit in it for both, problem is we dont live in an ideal world

Agree although it's no different to 600 playing 600 as per Perth or Melbourne but at least there will be a result and bowlers are unlikely to break

Troll score 99.9

Needed to mention that MCG has a drop in for a perfect 100.

Are people other than Indians on FB really calling for this match to be abandoned due to the wicket??

Michael Holding is having a miscarriage about it.

Why ffs? Because it's a proper test wicket that today's princess batsmen can't deal with?

I normally quite like Holding but get f**ked mate, you tried to kill merkins on worse than this
