52.5 start for PNG?

A bit rich.

I think it's easy money in taking PNG with that start. When was the last time Australia beat PNG by 52 points let alone on a rain soaked afternoon featuring a relatively new looking side loaded with players who haven't played in a while?

Expect a scratchy win by the Aussies. It will be ugly at times, flashes of indiviual brilliance, though I don't expect the well oiled Australian machine that apparently the bookies are expecting.

Very generous imo. I think around a 35.5 start would be more accurate. Probably even less in these conditions.

I just put $100 on PN with a 48.5 start at $2.00.

I just can't see Australia running that down in these conditions.

I agree. We had about that margin in '08 with the greatest ever backline. Now we've a few half arsed backs and no Thurston. We looked near incapable of scoring without him in melbourne. Especially with the rain, it's surely too long. Butttttt, who knows what these new Kumuls blokes are capable of?

Just placed a bet on it with the NZ TAB and 5 mins later wanted to use it in a multibet option and now betting has been suspended for that option. All the money must be flying in on it

Last time Australia played PNG they won 46-6 in the World Cup, although they didn't pick the best side available as it was a chance to give the backups a run. I predict a similar scoreline this time. PNG have only 1 NRL player, I'm pretty sure they had more last time.

In 2008 we beat them 46-6 with this side

1. Hunt
2. Boyd
3. Monaghan
4. Tate
5. Williams
6. Campese
7. Thuston
8. Kite
9. Smith
10. Perry
11. Watmough
12. Tupou
13. Fitzgibbon

14. Prince
15. Price
16. Gallen
17. Folau

Not exactly the best Australian side ever, in fact the depleted side we're wheeling out this year is probably better, however with the weather and other factors to contend with, I think it will be a lot closer than 52.5, I'd say 30.5 would be enough.

Agreed, Iv heard people say that before and the backline was weak compared to what we could of had. Gasnier was supposed to be available, Hodges was out with injury, it wasnt a great backline.

That WC team played great footy, mainly on the back of Lockyer and Slater.
