Remember this is from the radio station, NOT the Gold Coast bid.

Barracudas
Chargers (BID team have said they don't want to touch the old names. Wasted position.)
Flat Heads (WTF WTF WTF)
Giants (BID team have said they don't want to touch the old names. Wasted position.)
Hammerheads (Cronulla Sharks?)
Manta Rays
Piranhas
Rippers (You lil Rippers! WTF?)
Stingers
Titans (American, but I do think Titans are cool, they are evil gods you know.)
Braves (American, I'm thinking BASEBALL. I can't get it out of my head. Oh now I'm thinking of Kylie.)
Coasters (What is a Coaster? A lazy person? A roller coaster? A beer coaster?)
Generals (American)
Gladiators (Valleys Diehards! Back off buster!)
Jaguars (We already have Tigers and Panthers)
Orcas (Wellington bid anyone? Wasted position.)
Predators (Sweet!!! I love that movie!)
Stallions (We already have the Broncos! Wasted position.)
Suns (The pick of the lot? I think so.)
Trojans (Reminds me of people trying to hi-jack my computer. Maybe Norton's Internet Security can be principle sponsor.)

I friggin emailed them at least half a dozen times with different suggestions!

And there isn't even a box where people can write in another option.

No Pirates, No Griffins. No Cougars. No Corsairs. Thank you for wasting our time ABC radio.

ABC Coast FM listeners have sent in many great names, and we've selected the best twenty.

:D ;-)

OK I have sent ABC Coast FM a thank you email for wasting our time.

And an email to the Gold Coast bid team advising them to throw that list in the bin and to come here and have a look at what the real fans think.

I'm disappointed, I was expecting a really good list with even a couple good ideas we hadn't thought of.

*cracks knuckles*

I'm off to bed! :sleeper:

All of those names are fairly shyte.

Rippers? Flat Heads? Generals?

Seriously, the suggestion for the name "Dumpers" in an article the other day sounds better FFS.

That's a shocking list.

Cheers.

Deadset, I even sent them the Ironmen name, if that doesn't have over half of those names covered well... apparently it doesn't.

The Gold Coast Gallahs is my suggestion.

It has the Australiania feel to it & has the mandatory alliteration. The colours would be pink, grey & white.

I don't mind the scorpians name, but it's not really some thing that can be associated with the coast. It's got be a marine name of some kind.

I notice Australian animals dont seem to make the cut apart from the flathead!

Go the Flatheads - that gets my vote!

How come these yank wank animals that an Australian only knows of because of Yank teams are so popular????
