Looks like the ABC's coverage of sport is now as bad as its coverage of current affairs

So glad I was at the game and didn't have to see this shit. I was wondering who that prick was though and what he was doing when I saw him near the crowd.

If you're a professional sport, and you rely on abc2 to broadcast your event then you deserve everything you get

I don't get the blow up about this coverage. Have to do something to make watching a televised non-serious training run interesting.

Personally I think they should have just let the crowd sing you'll never walk alone for 90 mins while the players signed a few autographs. That's all they were there for anyway

They should have had the offsiders wankers on to tell us how this game is not as good as ozzie rules.

I presume he was going for the 'so bad it's good' shtick.

Seems he has trolled a lot of people. I'm loving everyone getting pissed off over it.

    True

Big clubs can sell out the joint and attract the likes of Fox Sports to show it

Who cares? The most offensive thing was selling tickets to watch a glorified park footy game.

f**king Jamie Garragher and Steven Gerrard played in the game?? I assumed it was a flashback to 10 years ago for the first 30 seconds I watched it, then turned it off to watch some paint dry.

Its law of diminishing returns with these types of games, the crowd attendance is going to dwindle more and more until they stop being worth it.

Who cares if it was a friendly, it was one of the largest English clubs that has a huge following in this country playing the A-League champions, it was a professional game being played. The game deserved to be treated with respect.

One thing I will say, did the FFA not do their due diligence and discuss the telecast with the ABC prior to the game airing?

Privatising the ABC should fix it apparently...

    You're probably correct Jim

Companies tend to produce better products and services when their income is on the line

    The aftermath of that confusion:

It's more a disgrace that taxpayers are funding these knobs, and other unfunny dropkicks such as Julian Schiller.

Then how come Ch7 paid for when Liverpool came out to Australia last time and played at the MCG?

presumably the FFA or whoever it is was asking for too much $$

as jimbo rightly said earlier, businesess who actually have to manage their own dollars usually make different to those that get free money regardless

Obviously 7 didn't get a return on investment.

I was going to say anyone who got mad about it has problems but blockers high pitched squeal has triggered me a few times this year when the raiders are sucking (so every game)
