Are the Raiders the most disappointing team this year?

That's a good point. It's a bunch of plod in the fishbowl of Canberra. Decent plod so they should do better, but plod is plod at the end of the day.

It's ok though. Canberra still has fireworks and porn. BTW lads, we've caught up, we have the internet and incognito searches now.

Teams have had 40 put on them and won before, not 50 though.

I asked a few of my footy mates at the start of the season
If you were given $10k to back a team to win this year who would you back .
    Most said Canb
    Me included ..without hesitation .
What a mob of dumb pricks we were .
You should always allow for the RICKY Factor .

You've got to allow for the Raiders factor too. As pointed out earlier, we traditionally fail with any form of expectation.

After about 5 rounds I had the Warriors pegged as the most disappointing but could see why - all the toys but no batteries. That then shifted to Penrith but they went on a bit of a run and you would say have a high ceiling given their talent. Now it's the Raiders. I honestly believed they were the real deal but they aren't even close. No doubt they will hit form with a 30 point flogging of us after the bye.

My son-in-law bellyache will be glad to hear that, he's the one who told me 40 . . . he'll be glad the Roosters needn't worry after all

Not sure about plod, Sheens would have them on their toes, Bennett would do a Dragons with them, Henry would do better in a return gig with this lot . . . there's another bloke that knows Canberra pretty well that could at least teach this lot to man-up

Canberra beat Melbourne 40-12 in 2012.

Well, you aren't playing the tigers, so no more wins?

    Yes this is correct.

Like i can see loads of mistakes sticky is making but this malaise of fail across the club predates stuart as a coach by decades

TBH I don't think we'll win until we cop a royal fisting. Losing close games all season has probably given our players the idea that we're not that far off.

    It's all on Ricky.

His coaching style allows for one good year. One. Then his players are wrung out and the whole mess goes to shit.

    Roosters
    Sharks
    Eels
    Now Canberra.

Ever notice how he is almost universally unable to attract top line talent, regardless of where he is? The good players in rep squads don't want to play for him. There have been a tonne of elite top tier players on the market and the Ricky Stuart factor hasn't got them even close to coming to Canberra. Yeah Canberra has attraction issues but they are not even in the discussion.

This is a bloke who walked into a room at Parramatta and publicly told half the playing group they were unwanted. Half way through the season. He was then surprised they played shit. He's an idiot.

But he didn't have a good year at all with Parra. He only had one year with them and won the spoon.
