It amazes me that all these body cams they've installed just seem to be off at the moments where evidence would be needed to determine whether a cop has f**ked up or not...Just so unlucky hey?
Shit like that should carry a very draconian custodial sentence, just to enforce compliance.
Yes, I agree. Tech is great when the they need to prove something
I was stopped by a hwy patrol office recently. First time it's ever happened to me. First thing he told me was it being recorded
Pretty sad. Will be interesting to see what comes out of the investigation. I am wondering why the body cams were turned off if they are required to wear them?
Looks like this could turn in to a real headache for the local police. (and rightly so)
The death of a foreign national can't be simply swept under the rug and forgot about.
But you then have the fact she is a well educated white woman playing against the fact that US police regularly sweep the deaths of innocent poor blacks under the rug.
If she was black this wouldn't even be an issue......
Aussie Lives Matter
Wow. Nothing like an untimely death to push a point, eh.
If she was a black Aussie, it would most certainly still be an issue.
If there were good guys with guns this would not have occurred.
If she were black it would be a national news story in the US and there would already have been 3 riots in at least 2 cities over it.
As it stands this hasn't even moved the needle over here
No riots as yet , stay tuned.
Oh it was a black cop um ok well this is a bit awkward.
Named Mohammed as well. The first somali-american cop in the city with a big pomp and ceremony when he graduated to the force.
A black muslim immigrant cop shooting a white woman. Its the alt-right's dream police shooting
When an unarmed person reporting what they believe to be a crime is shot dead by law enforcers (from within their own vehicle) ,and no video evidence is avaialble .....that's a pretty significant event in any place.
..and a citizen of another country. ..even more so.
I tend to agree but perhaps a blonde white Aussie woman being shot by a cop is the turning point, you can't shove this story under the rug.
It seems like this guy just simply shot her which is outrageous.
I wonder if their justice system will try to weasel him out of it like the other killer cops.
You know what, if I was being attacked whilst on holiday in the good ole USA I reckon I'd sooner take my chances with the criminal than call the police and face the prospect of trigger happy cops.
uh, its front page news over there and here.
This charming gem was a few clicks in. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...lb-teen-girl-mistaken-170lb-male-suspect.html
This would be swept under the rug of she was black? Have you people been living under a rug? Why do we all know the names Castille, Brown, Garner, Rice, Grey etcetera?
It's right that garbage policing is being called out. Turning it into a race war turns attention away from the warrior cop mentality that's at the heart of the problem.
If only there was a good guy with... Oh.
Should we start a campaign that white lives do matter.
Ms Damond's death in the alley outside her Minneapolis home just before midnight on Saturday has devastated and outraged family, friends and left the Minneapolis community upset about the latest police shooting in their city.
The US police officer who shot her dead has been named as Officer Mohammed Noor, who joined the Minneapolis Police Department a little over two years ago.
He was reportedly seated on the passenger seat of his vehicle when he fired multiple shots at Sydney-raised Ms Damond.
