Back Flip....Domino Effect

Interesting to note , recently, in both Sydney and Brisbane news limited papers word of an elite player recently signed on mega bucks to an inter state club and a month out of the cooling off period now getting cold feet !!!! Same old same old , going to miss the family, his mates, his coach etc etc
His current club , woops nearly said premier, trying to woo him back in the midst of trying to hold onto a star half as well as recruiting a high profile origin player and others to fill the void
Was thinking of the domino effect that this could have on a number of players and clubs if this were to happen
Dragons...Dugan
Rabbits..Johnston , Walker, Inglis
Sharks...Maloney
Storm...Cronk
Broncos..Hunt
Tigers...Watson
Titans...Hayne
Im sure there are others but they were the first to come to mind
All because one signing may fall through.Forgets contracts...they are not worth the tissue paper they are written on..
Just perhaps the Duges may not be lost to us yet....;)

What about the irony of Dugan going to Sharks as Bird left them.

He also won't get the same $$ he is being offered in brisbane.

Will be interested to see how Bennett handles it, as they got Milford (was it?) in a similar manner with family etc etc

No domino effect. If Bird does not go to Brisbane, he may just go to another Sydney club. Maybe even the Dragons but doubt it. Maybe Tigers Fullback. Bennett will let him go because he would not want the shonky TPA details to be revealed.

I'm tipping the Sharks will let Maloney go to Souths on big dollars if they can get Bird to renege on his Broncos deal and thus play 5/8 as his preferred position. Somehow I think this could get messy & I don't expect the Broncos to be screwed.....they usually do the screwing.

The Broncos will take GI and move Boyd to 5/8 if Bird goes.

Or they could Aleays use Milford and Nikorima as their halves with GI to centre.

When is a contract a contract. NRL should step in and.make it known that if a player does not honour the contract he signed that player is stood down for 12 months without pay.
Maybe that heavy handed but the ramifications are HUGH

Really, it seems that these player contracts are heavily in favour of the players. Penalise the player manager if a deal is not honoured and you will soon see a stop to this nonsense. Contracts should be binding on players as well as Clubs.
