BANGLADESH has retained all-rounder Khaled Mahmud as captain for an upcoming cricket tour of Pakistan.

Stylish batsman Habibul Bashar has been named his deputy for the tour, on which they are scheduled to play three Tests and five one-day internationals.

Bangladesh are just back from Australia, where they predictably lost both Test matches and all three one-dayers, thus maintaining their run of losses in both versions of the game.

Bangladesh have lost 20 of 21 Tests since gaining Test status in 2000 and have not won a one-dayer since upsetting Pakistan in a preliminary league match of the 1999 World Cup in England.

There are two changes in the squad from the one that played in Australia. Batsman Al-Shahriar and paceman Tareq Aziz make way for Razin Saleh and Alamgir Kabir in the 15-man squad.peThe team leaves for Karachi on Saturday.

Bangladesh: Khaled Mahmud (captain), Hannan Sarker, Javed Omar, Habibul Bashar, Sanwar Hossain, Mohammad Ashraful, Razin Saleh, Alok Kapali, Mohammad Rafique, Khaled Mashud, Tapash Baishya, Monjurul Islam, Anwar Hossain, Alamgir Kabir and Mashrafe Bin Murtaza
