Dragons captain Trent Barrett and Test prop Luke Bailey are in doubt for tomorrow's local derby against the Sharks at Toyota Park, but Jason Ryles is a chance for a comeback.

Barrett (hamstring) and Bailey (calf) have not improved as much as Dragons coach Nathan Brown had hoped and he said they would have to pass a fitness test tomorrow morning.

Ryles, whose last game was the third State of Origin on July 16 last year, has been cleared by shoulder and nerve specialists this week, but is yet to be cleared by Dragons team doctor Martin Raftery.

Raftery will assess Ryles tomorrow afternoon. Brown will not announce his final team until one hour prior to kick-off as per the NRL requirements.

Mind games hopefully, the game plan vs Saints including Barrett and Bailey would be vastly different to one without those two. Makes it tough to prepare.......

Id be very disappointed if either didnt play.

First he said he could of come back on against Penrith. Then he declared that he was good to go for the test. And on Sunday he said he could have played against Easts and that he was a certainty for this week.

Hopefully this article is just disinformation being put out by the club before the game but if not I would recommend a muzzle be but on Trents mouth with regards to his opinions of his own fitness.

Ducks & Drakes, hopefully.

Although Saints did play well without both of them last week.

Cheers,

Well according to the Ch 9 'Big News on Trent Barrett' report on Friday night footy, Barrett has aggravated his ankle in training and will not play this weekend - he is expected to be out for 2-4 weeks.

Bailey is a better than even chance.

Ryles is an outside chance.

I thought it was his hammy? The same one that he did against Penrith two weeks ago.

Looking on the bright side of life this means that he probably won't get a Sky Blue jersey so we'll have him on board when Bailey, Timmo, Gaz and Cooper are all out on origin duty.

I saw Barrett yesterday, hobbling around like he was Shaun Timmins!!!! Very doubtfull.

Bailey is 50/50.

Ryles could play, but surely match fitness would work against him in a game such as this. I'll back him to play Premier League.

Sharkies all the Way said:
No matter wat its gona be close, last week against the roosters they put up a great fight without those players so that wont change this week.
Yes... 42-12. They don't get much closer than that.
