Ben Barba paid a visit to the Miranda premises of Southern Radiology today for a scan on his ankle after coming from the ground late in the Sharks loss to the Storm last night.
The scans have revealed a grade one ankle strain, an injury which is likely to keep the Sharks utility out of action for the next two matches.
His potential return has been slated for the final round clash with the Manly Sea Eagles.
The injury is a blow to Barba who before last night was providing an injection of attacking energy when entering the games after half time, with his absence leaving the make-up of the Sharks bench somewhat up in the air ahead of Saturdays game with the Tigers.
In a plus however Sam Tagataese is set to return after a week out due to suspension, while the Sharks reported no other major injury concerns following the Storm game.
Barba has taken part in 17 of the Sharks 21 matches so far in 2015.
The Sharks team to play the Tigers at Remondis Stadium on Saturday will be named late today.
