Problem is that he is notorious for being harsh on both teams tonight, so it was always going to be the Ben Cummins Show unfortunately.

He is absolutely hopeless and has been for a long time.

The way he refereed the Penrith v Tigers game was a debacle. He had obviously made up his mind at some point that he simply needed to blow penalties until there was a sin binning - you could tell it was going to happen after about the second penalty - but then made sure to also do it later to the Tigers to make it “fair”.

The fact he also missed a clear knock on from Cleary - that was as clear as day - and that was only called back by the touch judge after Cleary had run 60 metres was also ridiculous.

There was one call. He called play on for Tigers then changed it to be their scrum feed. Let the play go, the sinbinnings were bad calls. Head highs counted etc is just dumb

As far as bad refs go he’s right up there with Henry Perenara.

That being said, when’s badgers missus going to get a run as a referee?

He destroyed the game last night. The result would not have changed with another ref and quite possibly Penrith would have racked up a number if the game was allowed to flow. If it was not my team playing I would have turned off after 20 minutes. The NRL is a very durable product, but it will die if we c continue having blokes like Cummins control games
