i was ridiculed for stating i couldn't give a f*ck that he was f*cking off.

i don't rate the guy.
he offers nothing but good defence.
he goes missing when it matters in attack.
he makes crucial errors when needed most.
he doesn't have a clue how to handle an overlap..

I've been saying this for years, and have been equally ridiculed. But I stand my ground about Duges despite what many on here say.

What irks me most about Duges is his price tag. We paid him 800k last year, in terms of bang for buck, that's a ridiculous amount to pay. The only thing worse would be to keep paying that for another 4 years. Thankfully Millward came to his senses.

Titans are feeling our pain now, they too have an overrated, overpaid superstar fullback. They were actually a decent team before Hayne arrived.

Talking about Hayne . the plane.well it certainty didn't get off the ground last week .he didn't look like a million dollar fullback ,what will we see this week .take off or crash landing.

Hayne only shines in the big games (like Origin) And his talents only serve to make himself look good. It's all about the individual with him, never about the team. When you're on the sort of coin that Hayne and Duges are on, you need to make everyone around you better as well, much like Smith, Cronk, Slater, JT etc.

Dugan and Hayne have no ability to do this despite their freakish talents. That's why they will unlikely ever win a comp.

Well given Hayne carried his team to the GF only to be beaten by a salary cap wroughting Storm... he came pretty close

Big No from me for Dugan in the back row. He has a big frame, but he isnt built like say Tyson or De belin. He normally makes maybe 5-10 tackles a game primarily on backs. How will he cope with 30-40 tackles against the monsters in the middle of the park.

Don't get me wrong I like Dugan and rarely fault his effort/intensity but it is really hard to find a place for him in the team at the moment. I prefer Dufty at fullback and probably Aitken at centre.

To be honest I think the best place for him in the current team would be on the wing, probably replacing Nene. Then we can use his running game to still get good kick return meters and hit ups from the back. Give him a license to roam/back up in attack.

I like that idea. Give him a license to run the ball which is what he does best and his positioning in defence is much better than Nene's and would plug the huge leak in our right side.

I'm not a Dugan fan but let's face it, he's a better option than lafai.
Dugan at right centre and switch aitken to the left when they are both fit.
Not the best option having a specialist right player on the left but best option for the moment.

I think I love you

Datramp, I have got to say that your idea of moving Dugan to the right wing is one of the best ideas I have read on the Forum. We have been whingeing all year about the lack of co-ordinated defence on the right hand side which has cost us so many tries and so many games. An Aitken-Dugan combinaion may well be the best solution. Of course we know it will not happen but I congratulate you on your lateral thinking, something our poor coach is incapable of.

Thanks!. It is really elimination though - I think Dugan is one of our best players and needs to be in the team. I like what Dufty offers at fullback and that keeps us preparing for next year. Nene has been suspect in defense and doesn't run the ball up hard like Dugan does which hurts and leads to the forwards having to muck it out or compounds our poor long kicking game. Means our midfield bombs might be 30m out bombs :)

The Left hand side has been pretty good in both attack and defense and Nighty is far safer at the back than Nene. Add to that Dugan plays right centre so there is less adjusting.

Of course the irony of doing this would mean for the last few rounds at least we will have a winger on cash above what we refused to pay Bmoz :)

Wing or forwards , Duges needs to be in the team somewhere . I myself thought that as a bench forward would be the go , but after reading some of the posts today , why not place him on the wing ? He wouldn't have to worry about off-loads , as he would be the last link in the chain and he defence is a hell of a lot stronger than Nene's .

Quite simply , the Dragons are still a chance ( although a long one ) of getting to the semis . That being the case , we need every player that can attack and defend in the team in the next 4 weeks .

Should we lose 1match we can kiss the finals goodbye , so whilst we are still in contention , the coach (?) must use every available option . As from here on in , there will be no 2nd chances , only ruing over what could had been . . . . yet again .

Does no one remember that game last year when Dugan defended on the wing and got burned by Koroibete twice?

Oh dear to have a backline with speed and players who know how to tackle gee I guess the coach has a lot to do with that.
