This bit is of some concern to me

We kind of already knew that but to have it confirmed that they are more focused on saving rather than doing everything they can to make us a better team doesn't sit well.
I know every team can only spend within it's means, but we have a pretty decent leagues club so our means should be way above people doing multiple roles to save money

Well the Leagues Club has been hemorrhaging money because of us over the last few years. While it is linked to the footy club, it is still its own business and needs to run as such.
They can't just hand over infinite amounts of money. If it is cost effective for Bernie to have two roles at the club, then I'm sure he can handle it. Like he said, it was working fine last year.

The issue I have is, if a better alternative came along but wasn't cheaper, it seems they will decide cost over the benefit of the team

It may not be Max who is deciding on cost over benefit.
The CEO is given a budget to work to at the start of each year. I would imagine he has a major say in where he spends that budget. And money is not always the deciding factor... sometimes other things come into play, like what is the best structure and even ego.

The club buckled so they could keep guth.
You play for the fkn club not the fkn coach.
Playing for the coach got us the spoon last year...
As a player its your job to play.
This absolute BS the players love the coach and they want to play for him is just that..Massive BS.
If Gurr goes i hope he takes BA with him otherwise we will have to put up with another 2.5 years of mediocrity
