I found Mary's comments on Mann's defence needing to improve interesting, he did miss the one on one with Slater, but considering Slater is up there with one of the all time best fullbacks I found it hard to be critical, but Duges had some bad misses, and as mentioned nighty was caught out a little, although some of those try's no other winger I've ever seen would of stopped them, but yeah the outside backs were poor again. Aleast Mary conceded Mann is keeping his spot whilst Widdop is out.

Sorry Aitken but IMO you lose you're spot to Milne
Wouldn't it be great if someone in the Club publically analysed Mary's game plan and bench management. I wonder who would take his place when he was dropped?

If Aiken goes, it will only half solve the problem as MacDonald is just as culpable in defence.
I dont fully agree re MacDonald is just as culpable.....for a start Macs game is on the up imo and hes saved a lot of trys for us lately whereas unfortunately Aitkens game especially in defence is going nowhere....when I watch him he gives me the impression hes programmed to just rushing up and when he gets there he looks as though he thinks bugger what am I doing here their gone...hes only young and he is going to be a good player for us but Im afraid right now he needs to improve his awareness and timing

Well he just got named in the centres for Country so someone must rate him
Thats good the more he plays hopefully he will learn......he may do well for Country and as you point out obviously some one rates him and thats good......but unfortunately hes not doing well for us in the defence department at the moment

I'm fairly sure his coach won't be adopting the up and in defensive structure. I'd say, with a good coach and some specialist coaching support, Aitken will overcome his problems however, in my opinion he will have a bright future in the backrow once he beefs up a bit.

This is going to be an interesting time for the team. Injuries will mean new player combinations will be forced to look for attacking and defensive success.

If they are successful it will add an extra dimension to an already good team. If they don't, the Dragons may loose their 'mojo' and Widdop will return to a team lacking in confidence.

Sorry to say, but I do hope his hammy keeps him out for a couple of weeks so that Milne gets to shine and forces Mary to bring Aitkin back via the Cutters.

Unfortunately the City Country games do not seem to hold as much interest to most players as they used to....which is a pity for the country folk ......it used to be that it was a chance for country blokes to get a chance to play against tbe city boys ...but most country blokes are alread playing in the NRL...it was also a trial game for Origin selection but most are already picked long before.......reports I read today was Fittler had to ring around to find 17 blokes interested enough to play for City

His hammy strain is Good timing I say.
Milne & Lafai could be lethal in the centres.
I agree. I have for a long time rated Milne and believe he is a far better option at right centre than Aitken.

I remember Milnes first game in a trial for the Dragons against Wynnum/Manly in early 2016. My two sons - aged 24 and 8 - and I went to the game; it pissed down hard all day long. Milne being a new signing did not see much ball but he certainly stood out when he did.

He became my young son's favourite player mainly because he came over to the fence and took a few minutes to talk to him and sign is Dragons jumper.

Nice story possm. These things have an effect on kids. I always remember going to a fan day when I was young. I think it was at the Sportsground. I remember being ignored by Bob Fulton. Never liked him since.

Yep, I have 5 kids ranging in age from 9 to 37. They all follow the Dragons and their children follow the Dragons. When I lived in Sydney, we used to travel to every Sydney game the Dragons played.

Now I live halfway between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, so I only get to games played up here against the Broncos and Gold Coast. I have a daughter who lives in Ingham - just north of Townsville and so sometimes I combine a visit with a Dragon's game against the Cowboys.
