Breach notices confirmed

Looks like the appeal failed.

The NRL today confirmed the fines imposed on the Cronulla Sutherland Sharks and the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles for comments about referees following their Finals Series matches.

The original fines ($30,000 for the Sharks and $20,000 for the Sea Eagles) will stand.

Head of Football Brian Canavan said both clubs submitted responses to the breach notices which were considered.

“However, given the seriousness of the breaches – and the need for the integrity of the game to be maintained – it was decided that the penalties should stand,” Mr Canavan said.

Good to know they handled the appeal on its merits rather than let the "seriousness" of it determine the outcome.

Flanno should refuse to attend any pressers next year until the NRL ticks off on every question he can answer in advance.

And a big f**k you to the NRL. No coincidence the refs have put the whistle away since the Flanno blow up.

Greenberg is as slimy as they come.

And people ask where have all the old fans gone. Well the ones that are still on the right side of the grass that is. Nothing changes with the imposters running the game. The only certainty is that the number of the games supporters is dwindling every year.

Of course they will rort the figuers but you can back it in that there will be more half filled stadiums in the future.

f**k the NRL I say. I'm had more than enough of their shit now that the ride is over.

Greenberg needs to be asked direct on Monday and NRL should be audited to confirm how many tickets were sold for grand final, and how many tickets did the NRL give away

I don't think that's good at all.

Refs are few & far between & dumping them does nothing for the game.

We just get the next level of competence, which may we'll be worse than what was dropped.

The refs hierarchy need to be dropped if he goes. Letting players flaunt the rules so blatantly has them painted into a corner!

Flanno should take a lawyer into the first press conference next year and ask him if it's ok to answer each and every question put to him.
Would make for great theatre if nothing else.
