Canadian RL Team to Join Uk Super League would a English team work in Australia

The Canadians have come up with their own proposal/funding to enter the British system at 3rd division. The RFL didn't gp to Canada door knocking for financial backers for a wild Canadian experiment. Basically the equivalent of a South African millionaire coming with a fully funded proposal for a team to enter NSW Cup (with the eventual goal of an NRL team).

more like ron massey cup

Of course that should come first - just saying that if we were ever going to look to Asia in the next 10-20 Japan would be far and away the best bet.

might as well just have an american team based in hawaii, and have all the nrl games on tv in america. the team could be called trump's tomahawks. it would be YUGE!

lol - you clearly listen to Triple M.

If you were gonna put one in the US, Hawaii would be the only way to go though, as it's the only place in a semi decent timezone.

Japan is still better on that front - Our east coast is more in line with Japan than it is with Perth.

I honestly wouldn't know off the top of my head the flight time to South Africa, in that case insert country name 6 hours flight closer and there you go. Thank god we've rectified that.

If there were to ever be a southern hemisphere equivalent of the Toronto Wolfpack then I'd back Japan to be the place. Rugby infrastructure and money to be thrown around. It would still be completely random but then that is essentially what the Canadian bid was/is. NRL clubs taking exhibition games overseas to grow their brand would help the likelyhood, however small.

the hawaii timezone would be good though. they could have a game in hawaii at 6pm, and it would be 2pm our time (sydney)

Except Japan is in the northern hemisphere.
