Looks like everyone has agreed on 9.4M

I think this suits us, as we would have some extra cash to secure some players like Dufty on a longer term contract.

Have you got proof of this?? Millward was still targeting players for 4 remaining spots as little as 2 weeks ago so that doesn't seem like we have spent our cap.
Who and at what price? Was it fringe first graders at base salary? Lucky for those in control it is all kept secret; who know why? It should all be public information and only in this way would Clubs be kept honest.

Just heard it has been retained but reduced to 200k and now can be used for long serving players and/or development of promising juniors.

Now that ( along with the $2 k increase ) is the case , that would allow clubs to keep more of their ' big names ' rather than have to off-load them to other clubs . I wonder how much cajoling that took from Ray Dib to get that minor concession from the N.R.L ?

That money was set aside for the sole purpose of developing the younger players , that are the life blood of tomorrows game - the future of rugby league , however that has now been places in a rather precarious position , by the N.R.L.'s decision .

Indeed Gareth.

With the substantial increase in the overall cap one would have thought increasing the long serving player allowance pro rata and adding a junior development allowance would have been prudent.

It's now clear that the sad reality is lip service is the new norm when it comes to growing the game through junior development...
