I have a Calvin thin body 6 string acouey. Great axe and really handles the effects and on stage issues very well.

Been a while now :/

I had a Hofner thin body semi acoustic
I lost it somewhere along the line

Then last weekend a mate said he had it and do I want it back.

Horrible thing to play

Never heard of Hofner gits, my Carvin ticks all the boxes though and so it should, it cost me close to 2k as well from memory.

Could be either, while Hofner are probably more famous for the Beatle Bass they made some pretty ordinary guitars along the way, I know I have one.

Anyone use cubase?

I've just jumped ship from pro tools
Man what a mission to get it actually setup
Took all day to download the 5 gig of program exe
Then the activation thing is wouldn't work
I had to update every single thing on my laptop

Anyway it looks like pro tools.
Planning on using this as a portable recording studio.

I thought cubase was an older shittier version of PT? Sorry been out of the loop for a while.
Pro tools is expensive now
You can get it sort of cheap as a student which I am not.

I got a Steinberg ur44 that came bundled with cubase AI 9
That is a little box thing you Plug all your gear into that hooks up to the computer.

It is compatible with iPads and PC.
6 input jacks -2 guitar 2 MIC's 2 keys or
4 MIC's 2 keys
2 headphone outs
MIDI etc
Plug ins
Amps etc
$420

I'm only planning on using it to record 2 acoustic guitars
3 vocals and drums
Drummer is getting electric drums for practice and mellow gigs
He reckons they sound awesome
I'm sus on it as I am a bit old school.
But they can be lined straight into the UR44
No more stuffing around with multiple microphones to record the drums.

My PT audio interference bundle mbox 2 became obsolete as soon as windows 7 came along.
It still works but I can't update that computer without f**king up pro tools.
PT now have those bloody yearly fee thing going on from what I can tell.

My 8 channel elcheapo mixer has ran out of headroom. Likely replace it with a Yamaha 10 channel that has Cubase into the bargain. Have you got your head around it a bit more Carch? I know fegg all about it. Ive got an Mbox with PT and a Mac pro. Not using any of them atm. Gigging a bit though :)

If you have a spare 35 mins and like hard rock'n'roll give this a go.
The Powdermonkeys were an extreme force. This is the best footage I've ever seen of them.
I saw them blow a lot of "big" bands off the stage, very hard act to follow.
With all the drug talk in the other threads I thought I'd put these blokes up, they were junkies of the hardcore kind and this is how they played on the shit. Tim (bass player/vox) died ODing.
I'm not glamourising the culture but I wonder if the culture should be left to the experts....... (thats a bad joke)

Geeze they put my band to shame
We sit down to play
Not joking

Pretty sure I've seen them
Probably supporting someone or at a gig that involved a few bands on one night.
