EDIT: The article I pasted below has since been changed to say they are only streaming the usual games they broadcast on TV.

I have kept the original article below though as I liked the original message.

NRL fans have scored a huge win after Channel Nine announced they will be streaming every NRL game across 26 rounds along with their usual three live fixtures.

Nine have obtained full digital rights on the NRL, joining Fox Sports who have been airing every match since last season.

The usual Thursday, Friday and Sunday games will be broadcasted live on television, while the remaining fixtures can be streamed live or viewed on catch-up television.

''The home of rugby league will expand to new heights in 2018 and reach more Australians than ever when Nine claims full digital rights on the NRL,'' Nine stated.

'That means live streaming, catch-up, and short-form clips and highlights, coming straight from the broadcast to the digital environment via 9Now, Wide World of Sports.com.au and all of our social media platforms, live and free.''

There goes my Foxtel subscription
I would wait until you try to use it.

The Telstra streaming service was so useless, I gave up.

I have no problem streaming anything else (YouTube, Netflix, Foxtel, NHL, NFL) but the NRL provided by Telstra was simply unusable.

If Nine does not invest in the backend, which I bet they wont, it will be terrible, buffering and cutting out, constantly.

I stream NRL to my phone with Telstra and it’s been perfect.

Ch9 would have to be bonkers to announce this and set it up to fail. The bad PR would be substantial.

I think they are starting to look at what the future will be like.

They have changed the article.

I knew it was too good to be true.

Will this mean an increase in TV rating?
