Judging duties will revert to Australian selectors Bob McCarthy, Bob Fulton, Arthur Beetson and Les Geeves for Origin II at Telstra Stadium on June 25.
The decision to go back to the Test selectors has nothing to do with the Nine commentary team's decision to name NSW replacement prop Luke Bailey man of the match ahead of popular choice Andrew Johns.
Nine league director Steve Crawley said the decision to bypass the Test selectors was made for logistical reasons after consultation with the ARL.
"Executive producers in the past have made the call with the NRL on who will judge the award," Crawley said. "At the game there was some confusion about where the selectors would be in the stadium and how we would have their decision communicated to us."
