The StGeorge Illawarra Board today confirmed that they had just completed a full and detailed comprehensive review of all football club operations for 2017.

The key findings of that review include:

1. the Board is very pleased with their own performance and believe they are one of the best, if indeed not the best, Board in Australia.

2. the Board congratulate Mr Doust on another brilliant reign as CEO. The Board note that "Peter met all set KPI's for the year, exceeding in crownies drunk and also in half time entertainment". They noted that right game right venue continues to please the fans and the shift of the crucial final round against canterbury to make it essentially an away game was a brilliant move by a brilliant CEO. Illawarra TAFE confirmed Mr Doust will again try to sit their "leadership skills 101" course this summer and refused to comment on why a man who had failed 33 years running should apply again.

3. The Board again confirmed Mr McGregor is the right coach to lead the club to success after a brilliant 2017. "Paul had some wins and we finished mid table so the Board is very satisfied. "He did enough so we can all keep our jobs and what more can a true leader of men and in-breds really ask" noted one prominent Board member. "We love Paul like a brother, well actually he is a half brother to 2 board members and a second cousins to the rest and a son to the Chairmans aunt but still we love him and we love his use of the bench and his continued use of players who have no idea". We also praise his refusal to play juniors until it is too late and they leave the club".

4. The Board congratulated itself on removing any outsiders from the club as swiftly as legal law in Australia permitted and laughed off suggestions that the outsiders had any valuable insight into running a football club. Thank god we lost Demetriuo and Bennet as they were like a very dangerous and bad virus of success that this club simply does not need.

The club is unavailable for any comment on the above press release until 2030.

Mate its really very close to the mark , its laughable that they do think they have done a great job . All they will do next year is put in place another group to over see the last group to make sure that that group is making sure the coach is doing good ...

You have accidentally left out the bit about needing MORE insiders within the club so the lack of accountability is allowed to fester without interruption.

That feeling when you read another official end-of-season review announcement by the Dragons telling you the coach won't be sacked:

On a positive note we didn't the wooden spoon, that alone McWreckor deserves another extension on top of his current extension seeing him as our head coach until 2022!

KPI's ratings are as follows when it comes to performance:

Finish 17th - Below Expectations (Immediate sacking)
16th - Meets expectations ( 1 more year extension)
15th or Higher - Exceeds expectations (2+ year extension)

These ratings will only change if the NRL expands to a 18 or 20 team comp.

The fact he avoided the wooden spoon justifies this boards comments last year that Mr McGregor is a career coach with a long future ahead of him.

Don't be surprised if Mcgregor is sacked next month.. You read it here first..

Mickylane, I'm thinking the longer this goes on, the less likely he will be sacked.
If they have made up their minds ( you would think so by now ) ........... then they would flick him asap.
A new coach can be appointed whenever, so to speak.

The bullcheats have made 2 grand finals and the finals EVERY year since Des coached them with the exception of this year.

Guess what? Finishing outside of the 8 is not good enough for this club so Des will get the sack and be paid out a reported $1M.

The Dragons on the other hand have made the finals once in six years but re-sign the coach for a further 2 years.

It should say " Be surprised if Mcgregor is sacked next month ". That is Dousts & the boards mentality. Who are we going to drag in this time to do the comprehensive review??:wave:
