Does the NRL introduce a new kick-off rule?

The NFL have just passed a new kick off rule to increase the number of kick returns and minimise big impact collisions. Given the NRL's desire to mitigate the effects of big impacts and improve player welfare, I strongly suspect we may see a similar rule change in the NRL. It may be as follows -
Team A has one player kicking off at the half way line. The rest of that team is lined up behind Team B's 30m line.
Team B has all players lined up behind their 20m line.
Team A players cannot move forward until a team B player has touched the ball from the kick-off.
Should team A fail to kick-off past Team B's 20m line, play would restart with a tap kick from the half-way line.

Also, sorry to be off thread, but
Re kicks:
The NRL should do something immediately about protecting the player in the air.
With the short dropout.
Too many times now players are crashing back to the ground with their legs taken out by an either intentional or accidental opposition involvement.
This is IMO very dangerous is happening regularly.

Yes, the one that Papenhuyzen copped the other night was a beauty -

NRL do not need to introduce more rule changes. Is it me or is it ever since the Strom and their wrestling, chicken wings, rolling pins etc dirty tactics there has been rules brought in each year to protect players. Before that there was not many new rules and the game was doing just fine.

And yet strangely, it's teams other than the Storm that seem to cop the brunt of these rule changes.

There are benefits to being in a major market where no one cares about RL.

What do you do here though? Do you just let opposition get the ball to eliminate any risk of this happening? I mean the Newcastle/Storm one doesn't look intentional at all. He seems to be watching the ball. The fact Paps leaps high with forward movement was always going to end in disaster even if the opposition did end up trying to go up for the ball.

There are some scenarios where this is going to be unavoidable. The players themselves have to take responsibility for the their actions at some point.

Rugby League is meant to be a full impact collision sport. That is the beauty of the game.
Leave it alone, soon we might be watching's players wearing tutu and tiny ballet shoes ever so slightly tapping each other on the shoulder rather than brutally tackling each other.

Farrrrrkkkk.....What has happened to the game I loved for 50 plus years??

We don't need to copy EVERYTHING the dumb Americans do. let them envy our game.
Shit soon the players will be walking around cris-crossing high fives with weird slaps and handshakes....wait never mind the dumb asses are all doing the "secret" bullshit cheesy cringeworthy childish handshakes. f**king hilarious wannbee American Gangsters.
