I know early days but on current form who will we lose to SOO selection. As we all know, geographically Qld is considered everywhere so James Graham may end up wearing that awful maroon jersey.

Certainties
Friz
JDB
Hunt

Possible
Vaughn

Longer odds
McInnes
Sims

I already thought Vaughn was a definite for origin this year, now with Fifita confirming that he will be playing for Tonga, Vaughn has to be their.

To add on to this thread may I put in replacements names.

Hunt, has to be IMO a specialist half so Nichols.
JDB, May seem crazy but need an 80 minute player so Mann to lock.
Frizzel, Host or Sele. Luc still impact off the bench.
Vaughan, don’t want to use LAM like him on the bench. Latimore maybe and then I’d like Kerr to get a go.

I’m a bad sport.

As much as l want to see our Saints players in SoO, especially JDB ..... with so many possibly being picked, will leave us under strength and open to losses.

As a fan, the club comes first but in saying that, those picked will surely do us proud.

I don't think anyone is a certainty except Frizzel. The selectors in SOO rarely do what we think they will.

Hunt is playing well, and QLD may go with him as their interchange, but I would think that they will probably move Morgan to 7, with minster at 6, and Milford on the bench. I know that's not how it should be on form, but QLD has a long successful history of picking players who have done the job for them in the past, even when they are down on form.

For the blues, I wouldn't be surprised to see a pack like this:

8. Woods
9. Peats
10. Boyd
11. Cordner
12. Jackson
13. Jurbo
14. Bird
15. Frizzel
16. Graham
17. RCG.

Not the pack that I would pick, but NSW has their favourites. The difference may be that Fittler may want change.

I'd say that certainties are Friz (replaced by Host, if he's not already in the side) and Vaughan (replaced by LAM in the starting line and Kerr on the bench).

Possibles are JDB (replaced by Sele), McInnes (replaced by who f**ken knows, probably Nichols), Hunt (replaced by Mann probably).

Outside chance is Sims, but I dont think NSW would go that way unless Cordner is injured and Graham is suspended!

OKB
I fell the same way.
But at least with the stand alone game for sso.
One less week without them

Am I the only one who thinks McInnes has his nose in front for the NSW number 9? He is made for Origin.

Peats is awful at the moment, Koroisau is inconsistent and can't play 80 minutes and Cook has only just started the role full-time.
Definitely the number 9 is open. Peats not in his best form. McInnes actually had a great game against Newy. I don't usually put heaps of praise on him but watched it again last night without the beers and he went well. Koroisau when on, plays exciting footy too. Having said that, I've only watched him a few times.

Sims no chance .... Edge players will come from Friz/Graham/Jackson/James/Cordner

Probable
Frizz - Starting edge
JDB - Starting lock
Hunt - Bench utility
Vaughan - Prop ... esp now that Fafita/McLean are not available.

Possible
McInness - Hooker

Bolter - Nene for Qld?

That is about it I think ...
Roberts would be more likely than Aitken for right centre

That being the case

1. Dufty
2. Nene / Nighty ... (Nighty should be gone by origin so may come back if Nene picked)
3. Lafai
4. Aitken
5. Mann
6. Widdop
7. Nicholls
8. Graham
9. Robson
10. Ah Mau
11. Sims
12. Host
13. Sele

14. Latimore
15. Kerr/Lawriw
16. Leilua
17. Field

It is one game isn't it that we have to worry about against the storm ...

You’re very optimistic if you think they will pick Jack over Jake to start. Not that he doesn’t deserve it, but media have a hard on for Jake.

Straight from the horses mouth.
I saw Fittler at WIN the other day.
I just asked him " Hey Brad will you be selecting Jack, Tyson and Paul in the Blues team?"
He said " they are definitely on my list"

I think Brad will pick Jack and Tyson and now the Fifita has dropped out of selection Paul is also in.

IMG_1535.JPG This is the Blue's opportunity to start afresh , of course it will depend upon just how brave the new coach is with his selections . I am hoping that he will go with a clean sweep of the cupboard - in other words get rid off those whom have not put in a full effort in previous SOO matches .

The first casualty , imo should be Woods . There are many other props who will give it a 100% , our own Paul Vaughan will not only do just that , but as mentioned by others he thoroughly deserves his chance as does Jack De Belin .

Frizz is a shoe-in and of course Hunt also , needless to say this will leave a yawning gap in the Dragons lineup , however I am sure that we will still play good football with those players on rep. duty .

I'm pretty sure sterlo is no longer involved and brandy is, so the old favourites might not still be so and we may see a few new smokeys selected.

Who knows, they may even try something as radical as picking the players in the best form...
