The biggest change to previous seasons is that rounds are now longer by four days, and breaks between rounds have been extended to one week, an extra three days.

The full time has also been extended to midnight.

This all designed to encourage a 5v5 competitive structure that is easier on the people playing the game.

These changes essentially came about following the gruelling schedule of 2011 where we all played each other twice - virtually unprecedented and in many ways the biggest season ever!

While it was great to see players reaching over 20 games for the year, the general consensus was to just play each other once this year and have the semis.

There is still plenty of F7s action when you add the mid-season knock out comp and rep games - a keen player can still find up to 15 games. But this way it is less taxing on the premiership team captains and competition structure.

Our good fellow forummer Azkatro will add the draw to the official F7s website at www.forumsevens.com

Long live the F7s. Our 11th season is upon us. Bring it on!

Just a question how big can a players bench be?? I for one believe if you name your whole roster on the bench then it can really be handy getting 5 players in.

Rhetorical qujestion?

Each team has 5 run on players and 2 reserves - to be named in the match thread by the captain prior to anyone in their side making a post.

Home sides are allowed one extra reserve - also has to be named in the team by the captain.

We began doing it this way in 2003. Before that it was unlimited reserves. Unfortunately this created a whole raft of problems so we decided on the current set up.

Joshie, google calendar reminder works a charm for stuff like this. I'll send out the regular PM.

There's no delay as such, just waiting for the match threads to appear.

But I have no probs with any decision to help teams get more articles in. Drew, you just have to clear it with the other captains and referee boss. There is a good buffer between the rounds.

FTR, the next round after this is the semi-finals, 30 Aug – 09 Sep.

Souths have been preparing for a Sunday full-time. But if everyone wants to move it, were cool with that.

I'm down in Victoriania, so really struggling to do anything as I have no PC. Also struggling due to my reemergence in Aus.

BTW, threads are not up yet.
