The sell for Mars explorers is so bleak it could only really attract lunatics. Like let's say if it were possible would anyone want to go somewhere where the bulk of the people will be so crazed, desperate or weird they would happily go on a one way trip to another planet.

But think of the positives, like ummm, ummm, ah, ummm, ah

Someone will have to help me out here

The people that do choose to go, will be very far away, with little to no chance of returning.

The only positive is, assuming you are the first person, you will be remembered for all human history. That’s kinda awesome.

Not “leave everyone one and everything you’ve ever known and loved to die on a godforsaken rock 50 million kms from home” levels of awesome though

We could send the undesirables there and call it Marstralia.

Then in 100 years they could come back and flog us at all our own sports.

They will be a shit load of people putting their hand up for a one way trip.
I guess it's what happens once they are there will be interesting.

Add in slightly reduced gravity and you’d get some bloody wicked bounce

Check out The Expanse on Netflix, it's about 200 years in the future and the solar system is colonised.
    Fiction but it's feasible

    Feasible?
Man went to the moon for a few minutes 50 years ago and haven't been back because it is too expensive and rather pointless
