Its a test series...its for the RFL & NZRL to sort out..

By doing the international program in isolation like this does not maximise international exposure

This is what creates all of the problems in the first place

2015 International Program should include
- NZ v Eng Test Series
- All RLWC2017 Qualifiers MEA Pacific Americas & Europe
- Euro Cup
- Pacific Tests

And they should be able to get enough to pay Test playing wages and cover travel costs

Where wages are tiered
eg Tier 1 series 60k match payment
Tier 2 series 40k match payment
Tier 3 series 20k match payment

This is exactly what should not be happening.

I like the idea of selling things as a package, but you're not going to be able to pay tier 2 and 3 players those sorts of player payments unless they are the ones bringing in those sorts of dollars. Australia, England and New Zealand bring in most of the money, those players will receive the lions share. It's going to happen, deal with it.

The RLIF can't organise TV rights for internationals as the nation's involved are going to want their slice. They're not going to accept a match payment for the players and maybe something else on top for the governing body, they'll want more. That's why the 4nations is the way it is. All the profits are split among the big 3 and the 4th nation receives a standard payment rather than their fair share. This attitude isn't going to change over night.

Also, the RLIF don't have strong resources to negotiate with TV networks, compared to the ARLC and probably not compared to the RFL. It's probably more likely that a good deal will come from those national governing bodies than the RLIF. For the 08 world cup, I'm sure the NRL stepped in and gave assistance for production of the games. I think they assisted in some stadium deals too.

The RLIF didn't exist in 2008.

How much can we sell the package of international RL for ?

And we need to have a way to deliver it to all 16 countries ?

I don't think it's exactly possible. Mainly because the RLIF only own the rights to one tournament. They'd be sold individually.

It's important that every nation gets televised access to watch their home nation play. That should be what we work towards. Not every nation will have that obviously but, that's the goal. For Australia, England and New Zealand, it should be live. (For Australia, it should be on FTA)

The world cup should be available for every nation possible to watch it. All nations involved in any tournament should be able to watch their nation play on TV.

Australia should have the WC and 4nations live on FTA. Every game like the last WC.

Australia should also have all world cup qualifiers on Fox, as well as the European and Pacific Cups. This isn't exactly possible because broadcast production just doesn't happen for most games. Eg, South Africa vs Lebanon. Too poor a quality. New Zealand and Britain should have access to these games aswell, ideally on TV but most likely via a stream for the competitions opposite continent.
