The most logical team for No. 16 is the Central Coast Bears.

Rugby league is suffering from the AFL and rugby onslaught. we're stupid if we don't realise this.

A central coast bears team will be supported and fed by 2 crucial regions: the Central Coast and Sydney's north shore. Singleton wants to fund the team out of Gosford. The whole setup is ready to go.

Instead, the NRL want to retain 15 teams and 2 byes which stuffs everyone up - fans and clubs alike.

It's time rugby league fa fight up and demanded the central coast bears. We can finally start getting rugby league back to its glory days.

Most Logical is Gold Coast. Give QLD another team, how many more does NSW need. May as well get rid of the Broncos, Cowboys and Warriors and call ourselves the NSWRL

been there, done that... sub 10,000 crowds spring immediately to mind. its all well and good to hypothesise that they will only turn up to watch a team which is 100% central coast, but if they were passionate enough, they would have supported the eagles.

Gold Coast and Sth Qld ditto.

wellington looks like the best bet for mine... the bulldogs got decent crowds there, has potential.

That's the problem. Logical solutions which are best for rugby league - torn down by knee jerk reactions.

A Central Coast Bears team is a winner. There are hundreds of thousands of fans in NSW in the central coast and north shore who don't have a team.

It couldn't be more obvious.

We have enough teams in NSW. If a Sydney NRL club wants to re-locate then fine, but otherwise it should be end of story.

South-East QLD need an alternative to the Broncos. If the NRL doesn't move quickly, the AFL will, which would be a huge slap in the face to our game. We must keep Queensland (another state other than NSW), league territory.

I watched NRL Fox last night and they were discussing a 16th team. Wally Lewis' point was good, he said itll be a good idea putting another team in Queensland, but the best suggestion is the Central Coast Bears. We need to bring back the bears, kicking them out was the greatest insult in rugby league history.

the NRL faces 2 major problems with expansion they are Sydney centric ideals and the other is the already tarnished past of the Reds and the Rams.

In 95 if you check your stats the Broncos, Cowboys, Crushers, Knights and Warriors averaged above 20,000 for home games, the reds started with a bang but were realy quite pathetic. During this time the average crowd in Sydney was something nearer to 8,000 fairly disgraceful when you see what teams have been killed.

The Adelaide Rams attracted crowds near on 30,000 in there debut season and the Raiders of 94 and 95 attracted 15,000 plus crowds, can anyone else see the irony of keeping all the sydney clubs and killing the regional and interstate teams?

We should admit 3 more teams for an 18 team comp.
1.SOUTH QUEENSLAND CRUSHERS-playing half their games at Carrara the other half at Lang Park.Would give Queenlsanders that hate the broncos a team to support and ensure a game in SE QLD every week.
2.CENTRAL COAST BEARS-A team which would bring thousands of new supporters to the game as well as old Norths supporters back to it.Also instantly ignites two new rivalries with Newcastle and Manly.
3.WELLINGTON GIANTS-Their addition would benefit the game in NZ no end from junior development to the kiwi test side. Also extra tv revenue from the land of the long white cloud would be generated with a game there every week.

18 teams in a 3 groups of six format, meaning each team plays one another once and teams in their group twice for 22 rounds with a top 8 finals series.

Here's a few of my ideas:

*If any club is going to relocate I think it should be the rabbitohs. Move them up to SE Qld and call them the "Souths (South Qld) Rabbitohs".
*Central Coast need a new team for sure. (CC Bears)
*A team could be created/relocated for both Perth and Adeleide. They could be called the "Southern ______". Possibly relocate the Sharks or Sea Eagles.
Apparantly, Gallop rekons that there would not be enough funds to have a large amount of teams, which is probably true (ie. 20 teams).

My theory shows that:
*Only one club has to be created (CC Bears).
*SE Qld has a team (relocate souths).
*Adeleide and Perth both have a team (Southern Sharks/Eagles).
...Then we would have a NATIONAL Rugby League
